Coin Toss: Offense/Defense?

I say offense. Having the ball to start the 2nd half is alluring, but I think we gash and dash with Gurley and Marshall for an easy 10 play - 75 yard drive for a 7 on the board out of the gate. Take that crowd out on the first few 6 yard carries.

I say defense... If we stop them on a 3 and out and THEN score, its curtains for the energy of the stadium. Either way I have 40 yard line tix. Everyone can suck me beautiful.

I like defense. In a high energy game I think the defense has the advantage out of the gate.

Holy Mother of God...it better be freakin OFFENSE...our
defense was horrible in big games last yr. See. USC,UT,
Bama and Neb...with UFAG being the lone exception.
You really want to put the defense out first vs a top 5
offense,on the road, with 9 new starters?

Great attitude. Not the same D as last year. I do agree and say start with the O and long drives.

They're gonna have to play defense against that offense at some point. I think the damage of getting the ball first with that crowd and going 3 and out (not to mention they'll have the ball to start the 2nd half) would be more destructive than starting on defense and giving up a long drive.

Offense. Grind the tempo of the game way down and eliminate the crowd as a factor.

I posted this on the other board:
I feel like our offense, running and passing, will NOT be stopped. We have alot of weapons to account for with alot of experience. I just don't see a CU defense doing any different than GT.
Our secondary is going to be underestimated and they will surprise with a few picks, but mistakes will be made here and there which will lead to CU TDs.
Our DLINE will struggle at first then when they can get a feel of Boyd and the CU Oline they will be effective. Rotation is my concern here. Can we get it going and get those guys up front the rest they will need.
OLBs-Flo and JJ will show UP and wreak havoc in the backfield all night.
This may turn out to be the Mizzou game last year.

Maybe. However, Clemson has a lot more talent than mizzou and a much better offensive coordinator. I wouldn't underestimate their ability to take us to the wood shed if we don't execute.

I think we will get the pressure on Boyd when we need to.
