Alabama took 70 years in the SEC to get into trouble--A&M brings shame in year 1.
The southern conference was formed in the 1920s.
It morphed into the the SEC as we know it today.
Alabama was put on probation in 1995 for the first time ever (for Langham signing with an agent on a napkin after the 92 championship).
Congrats A&M on f&*#ing up RIGHT out of the gates.

The NCAA looked the other way for many years while Bryant was stocking up on players. Nice try though.

SIAA was formed in the 1800's and is the oldest of the Big 5 conferences no matter what the B1G yahoos think they know. The Western Conference was formed after Dr Dudley got things rolling in the south.

SIAA morphed into the SoCon which morphed into the SEC and ACC. TAMU was actually a member of the old SIAA and would have been a charter member of the SEC if they had not listened to their neighbors in Austin.

Probably the same amount of time it wouldve taken Bear Bryant to get in trouble if he ran his program in today's SEC the same way he did in his day.
