I did not realize this until reading some Virginia Tech news this morning. And their starting right tackle is also a new starter.

Man their roster looks depleted.

If Alabama doesn't blow this team out, I'm going to be concerned about the season.

Alabama should sodomize VT. VT is not a good team and hasn't been for several years.

Pretty sure their starting OL has a total of zero starts under their combined belt.

I read 36 starts among the 3 interior guys. No starts at tackle, including the true freshman left tackle. Saban and Smart are going to confuse the frick out of the kid.

I'm fully confident that our DB's have chance for 3 or so INT's this game. We all know Logan Thomas is a turnover machine and with pressure we should be able to bring it should only get worse.

I think last year was really the first time in a long time I wouldn't consider Virginia Tech at least a "good" team. They did seem to fall hard last year though and this year looks like a rough one too.

Their final poll rankings (coaches) the last 20 years:

2012 - Not ranked
2011 - 17
2010 - 15
2009 - 10
2008 - 14
2007 - 9
2006 - 18
2005 - 7
2004 - 10
2003 - Not ranked
2002 - 14
2001 - 18
2000 - 6
1999 - 3
1998 - 19
1997 - Not ranked
1996 - 12
1995 - 9
1994 - 24
1993 - 20

One of the most consistent top 20 teams in the last two decades.

Don't forget Loeffler is their OC. I think the interior pressure is key. I know Hubbard will want to get after guys, but he'll have to do some contain. Mosley is gonna be a good spy, and HaHa will take away a lot of deep shots. I don't see this offense doing much at all.

I thought I saw where their whole OL was true freshmen or RS freshmen. Guess it was just the OTs

I expect much of the same from us this year. Hopefully we can get some push with the front 4 or 3 but I expect us to stuff the run.

yikes! Game will be ugly for VT. They need to hope to get out with their QB still alive.

Only thing that could keep it a little close(within 2 TD's), is if our O-line doesn't gel well, and their defense is really good.

Damn im watching their spring game and Thomas has thrown two pic 6s in the first two possessions. Yea we should dominate that line.

I'd like to see the Bama defense do to the VT qb what AU did to Brodie Croyle...

sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack after sack.

Hell I think croyle is STILL being sacked to this day.

O-line may be an issue at times for UA this year, especially when compared to some past o-lines, but I think they will still be able to run the ball effectively and use the play action to score plenty to win most games easily.

Sure, a bad game by Bama and a couple breaks for VT could make the game interesting, but it is highly unlikely.

Granted, those rankings were in the Big East and ACC conferences, so what do they really mean?
