CFB is getting a little out of control with all these shenanigans.

Arkansas didn't recruit him so we are not involved with "you guys" shenanigans.

Well if someone offered them 600k then that means a&m had to pay right?

If Cecil solicited Moo U for money, he obviously got money from AU....the same applies here doesn't it?

Not if you believe him.

quote:

“Chester Jones said the offers grew as high as $600,000 for his son’s signature on a national letter of intent – one SEC school and one ACC school said they’d double any offer – but he declined them all out of principle and the fear of inevitably getting caught,” writes Wetzel.

The general internet consensus seems to be Oregon. They recruited him heavily, have no less than a half dozen players on their current roster who are/were involved with street agents and have been under serious NCAA scrutiny in recent years.

well seeing as he went to aTm, they're obviously the SEC school.

my guess of the ACC school would be FSU.

Doesn't sound like the Dad was soliciting.. just was being offered.

It's naive as frick to think that every program is not somehow paying top players. Even Alabama. I really hate the indignation from some of the holier-than-thou fan bases that have better means of cheating. It's really starting to get old.

If the offer was real, he'd be dumb not to have taken it. Its not like he would have been caught or have gotten in trouble when caught (if good enough to go to NFL, if not 600k in his pocket) I mean Bush was kicked out of the NFL for taking money at USC.

Seeing as how it appears his father is the one who let it be known about the others, it sounds more like a ploy for attention or some lame arse recruiting strategy where he lists "a" SEC school and "a" ACC school as being in a bidding war then Sumlin can tell recruits don't go to x "SEC school" or x "acc school", they are under investigation for trying to buy Seals-Jones who did the right hing and played for aggy for free...

Both athletes deny receiving benefits...why do you believe one but not the other? Do you believe that one father was offered $600k and turned it down while another accepted it and managed to hide it from the IRS?

Except the article said explicitly that it was not A&M.

Craig James explicitly said he didn't kill those 5 hookers while at SMU, but everyone knows he killed 5 hookers while at SMU.
