Everyone knows the South Carolina fan plight.

USC/SC = Not us

Carolina = Not us

Columbia - Sit the frick down Mizzou (Kind of just threw this in here for fun)

Anyways, I'm not advocating you to call us anything differently. USCe is just fine with me. I just don't get why this is an argument that ONLY South Carolina and USC share? Is it because of the lawsuit, and it received publicity?

OSU - Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Ohio State
UT - Texas, Tennessee
UA - Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas
USC - South Carolina, Southern California
UM - Michigan, Ole Miss (Ole Miss never really refers to themselves as UM, but I included it anyways)

I'm sure there are others, but I'll stop there. Each of these teams, as far as I'm aware, have no issue with the other team(s) sharing their acronym. With the exception of SC and USC of course. Why does South Carolina draw so much attention to the "You're not USC" responses heard all the time?

On second thought, it can't be the lawsuit, because we garner the same reaction when we refer to ourselves as Carolina. Hell, UNC earned that moniker in an entirely different sport!

Again: You may call South Carolina whatever you wish. USC, SC, USCe, SCAR. I don't give a frick. I'm asking why we receive this backlash, while others don't.

Said UAw / UAjr.

If there is a chance of confusing I use SCar for us (not a bad acronym to have) and always use So.Cal for the Trojans. Never really use USC. Use SC on this board.

From what I've gathered these are the only two schools that seem to have a beef with each other because of the same acronyms.

Did me saying "call us whatever the frick you want" give that away?

I seldom get into the argument, and rarely EVER refer to South Carolina as USC or Carolina. Mostly SC. I just notice that we get more backlash about it than others. It being 3 itching long days until football begins, I thought I'd ask.

Not every question is a sign of being mad or upset.

But our Columbia is significantly nicer than yours.

You can't really compare a city to a college town. They are both nice in their own ways.

For anyone in the SEC to call South Carolina USCe is bullshite.

I imagine it's the same at Mizzou being MU instead of UM, except yours actually makes sense.

No it isn't, when discussing sports USC/SC = Southern Cal. You have to specify it is the other school who uses their acronyms as they are not as relevant as Southern Cal.

Are you claiming U of A as it sounds when it's spoken? Because U of A is Arizona.

YouofA being typed that way and being represenaitive of Arkansas is gay and acceptable. Fruitcakes.

The difference is that USC goes by USC, almost exclusively. The OSUs and MSUs are sort of back and forth. No worries, take their names away or make your own. Bama is taken.

*representative

The YouOfA is an official phrase used by the school in marketing.
