Marty Simpson is raising money for a contest against Clemson Tom to see which school has the best fans.

Gamecocks vs. Clemson: Domination 2013 I am hoping all Gamecocks will get behind me as I embark upon another Clemson Domination video series in 2013. Contributions will go toward helping with the production of the 2013 Domination video series. The more we raise, the more we'll be able to do! I am Marty Simpson, and I played for the Gamecocks from 1991-1995. I make my living as a comedian and as a web developer. I love making people laugh, and I love my Gamecocks. I am hoping to do a follow-up video series to last year's successful Gamecocks/Clemson Domination Campaign. See that video series here. Last year the videos took me over a month to complete. I just can't rationalize spending that much time again without it being a business venture. This year, I am hoping the folks who watched and shared last year's videos will feel like they can trust my product quality enough to invest at least one dollar each into this year's videos. That's all I'm asking for - ONE DOLLAR! Since the videos got over 100,000 views, no one person needs to contribute very much to make a difference. If everyone contributes, it will be more than enough to make it worth my time to do it all again. Basically, I want to do what I did last year, but instead of it being a very irresponsible decision on my part to skip work for a month to do the videos, I want it to actually BE MY WORK for the month to do them this year. What We Need & What You Get Here's a breakdown: I have set my goal at $19,019 dollars because I was #19 when I played for the Gamecocks. The truth is, I don't have a clue how much money I truly need to accomplish what I want to do. I just know that doing them last year for free is not possible again this year, but I didn't want that to stop me. I also, didn't want to ask any one sponsor for big money because I felt like that would take away money from the University. I wanted each Gamecock fan who enjoyed the videos last year to feel some form of ownership over this year's videos. We are all in this together. If we meet the goal, my intention is to spend the money on multiple trips to Clemson games to interview more fans than last year, as well as some trips to Gamecock games to interview the home fans about the rivalry too! We also need the production budget to acquire the audio better this year. Last year half the interviews weren't usable because our audio equipment quit working half way through the day! A portion of the budget will go to hiring proper audio engineers and purchasing new audio capture equipment. I also want more cameramen and more coverage as well as more days in the studio for the post-production aspect of the stories. Basically, I want to do a first class job and having the proper resources available will afford me the opportunity to do that! I have gotten wonderful feedback on last year's videos, but I wasn't able to do a TON of what I could have done with the proper budget! My Contest With ClemsonTom I met ClemsonTom when he was an in studio guest on Corey Miller's radio show (that I co-hosted sometimes.) We got to talking and he seemed a little bitter about how much better my videos were than his. He said he couldn't believe I would go to all that trouble to get a production staff together to make videos. He said he got 8,000 subscribers just getting drunk and talking to his web-cam. He didn't believe me when I told him I did all the production myself on a shoe-string budget from my kitchen in Blythewood. So I decided to challenge him to see who had the better fan base. He has about 7,000 more followers than I have in general, but I am hoping the Gamecocks will show up in a big way! I am hoping that the Gamecocks will unite behind me and show ClemsonTom that I don't need to get drunk and babble on endlessly to get a following! See ClemsonTom's Indiegogo.com page including his video. (When you notice the similarities in his descriptions, just know, mine was live about six hours before his! Pretty sure he knows how to copy and paste!) The Contest Parameters It's very simple. Whoever raises the most money using Indiegogo by our dead-line is the declared winner. We will then use those contributions to make videos about the Rivalry or about our teams. The loser is forced to appear in the winner's video about the rival. So if ClemsonTom raises more than I do, I am going to have get roasted while appearing in one of his videos the week of the Clemson game. But if I raise more than he does, he has to appear in my video roasting him! I have a few ideas about what I'm going to do. Just to give you an idea, just picture Katie Couric slicing and dicing Sarah Palin, or Chris Hansen offering cookies to an unsuspecting "predator." Also, picture ClemsonTom wearing a South Carolina football uniform mopping and cleaning Cockabooses as he sings the Gamecock fight song. You get the idea.

Awesome, I'm that guy though, so I have to break the post out to make it easier to read.

If you post it in the message box, highlight everything, and then hit quote it won't mess up the formatting.
