Meyer's 2 BCS titles completely made Spurrier's run in the 90s and early 00s irrelevant.

Agree or Disagree?

I do not endorse this post. Seriously though I disagree. Spurrier winning 4 straight SEC championships is something I think the conference will never see again and if we dont go up against the one of the greatest teams of all time (95 Nebraska) Spurrier prolly has 2 rings and were not even having this conversation.

No way irrelevant, but Meyer did one thing Spurrier could not do, beat Miami and FSU like the little sisters they are.

Meyer will always have a special place for what he did at UF with 2 natys. However, I do feel like he fell into it. 06 was with (gasp) The Zooker's team and 08 was due to Tebow. I contend that without Tebow we would not have even won the conference and that cannot be attributed to coaching. Am I wrong?

Well do you think Tebow comes to Florida without Meyers spread offense and if he does could he have had the same success in another offensive scheme? Plus Meyer and crew built that 2008 defense which always seemed to get overlooked and we had the best special teams in the nation when he was our coach.

You've got good points with the defense and ST. But would that have taken us all the way? We will never know. We'll just have to see how he does over the next few years with tOSU. Personally, I'm hoping he falls flat on his face after what he pulled recently. At least with SOS you always knew where you stood. The ole ball coach told it like it was.

Spurrier built Florida into a power house. Not even remotely a fair comparison. Meyer beat FSU sure, but FSU sucked during Meyer's tenure here. Spurrier would have raped them too if they were as bad in the 90's as they are now. Spurrier will never be irrelevant, he is the man that created the monster.

Spurrier may be the best at taking a program and making it strong. Look at what he did at Duke, here, and USCe. Even Holtz couldn't win at USCe. Dudes brilliant.

Meyer never comes to Florida if Spurrier doesn't launch to program into the national elite in the early 90s.

I feel like only someone that didn't watch football in the 90s can make this statement.

Spurrier > Meyer

Wuerful > Tebow

1996 > 2006 or 2008

IMHO
