I've seen so many posters (except Bama fans, most of them understand) write that UT will NEVER be back to the levels of sucess/prominence we enjoyed in the 90s/early 00s. I don't care if you agree or disagree, but I'm just wondering why so many people believe this is the case. So enlighten me please.

Tennessee has the foundation in place to regain their spot as the #2 program in the SEC. But it won't just happen. Our dark ages lasted far too long until we made the right hire.
As much as I love curb-stomping the viles, I do wish we'd have some of the UT/UF type runs. Seems like our two teams haven't been on top at the same time for decades now.

I think it will take a few years, if Butch is able to of course. You need a coach to right the ship. Tenn won't be down forever. If not Butch, than maybe the next guy is finally the right hire,

Everything is cyclic. UT has the prestige, money, and fan-base to put it right back into the fray.
Y'all have earned the right to be shitty back-seat for a while.... but, it's just a youthful idiot or a blowhard that will pretend like UT will never be back.

Tennessee will be back. LSU came back, Bama came back, Georgia and Florida are in the process of coming back.

UT has the resources and national name to eventually get back to the level they have been in the past. Sustaining that level will depend on the route they decide to take to get there.
