It's not because of flat screen TV's.

It's because the cheapest endzone upper deck tickets for UGA-LSU and UGA-SC are $190 per ticket on Stub Hub.

Isnt that supply and demand at work?

Sounds like you are contradicting yourself.

Add on parking costs, concession costs, and everything else.

I actually think parking is the number one issue- here, at least, you have to pay $20 or something to park a mile away. On campus spaces should be open and free, with a designated handicapped lot

I think we're all aware the SEC doesn't divvy money out to the fans

At least $20 of that is directly attributable to the first year contract that Bama gave Saban.

It's an incredibly expensive thing to go to a game now. Most people don't want to spend 60 bucks on a ticket to see a game vs Kentucky or UAB or some no name. Parking is 15-30, concessions are anywhere from 20-50 depending how much you get. You don't get to see any other games that day unless you have a good tailgate with tvs set up. It's hot, it's nasty, most stadiums you can't drink at. That's bad games. Good games, it will cost you around 400-500 bucks for even remotely good seats

Lots of reasons.

But I still go. Cause nothing beats live football. Besides sex. If I could do both while drinking a beer and eating pizza. I'd die a happy man.

I've heard the NFL has an attendance problem, but I'm not aware of an attendance problem for CFB.

Well I think that's one of the big issues in CFB. Costs aren't falling with the demand. Obviously South Carolina-Georgia is a big game, so this doesn't necessarily apply. But prices will still be too high for a game that doesn't sell 75% of tickets (like a cupcake game).

Not true

While it may not indicate a problem now when the baby boomers have the cash it could switch rapidly as the population bubble and cash disappears.

Unless its a huge game, I'd rather watch the game on a 65 inch led.

I remember getting a ticket outside Tiger Stadium for LSU-Alabama in 2000 for $50 and it was mind boggling to me that I paid that much for a ticket to a football game. It was by far the most I had ever paid

right, to show that you'd need to show some data of some sort

I do think fewer and fewer people are going to choose to attend football games because of a superior home viewing experience... but the fact that prices are still high on places like stub hub flies in the face of my assumption

Reminds me of Yogi Berra's quote about a restaurant: "No one goes there anymore. It's too crowded."
