As a Soutnern Alum I heard a rumor that UGA might not schedule Southern anymore since they are moving up.

Any truth to that?

And Thanks for allowing me to post

in appreciation

I am sure they won't.
It would be a lose lose situation for UGA really.

I mean, LSU never has had problems playing in state teams, but most schools do not.

This guy knows how to do it. Someone lets you in to their party you come bearing gifts.

And I have not heard that rumor as of yet.

I know gt is finally gonna play them in '14...We've played Southern every 4 years since '92, last played them in '12...

They are currently on our schedule in '16 on Nov. 19th, I doubt we'll cancel that game, but who knows heading forward...

Yeah I am really looking forward to that Tech game.

I know we have played every 4 years just heard a rumor that might stop since we are moving up to 1-A now.

Was just curious.

Prolly gonna depend on the 9-game schedule, BUT GSU would be a logical "mid-major" team to play on a regular basis(every 4 years is perfect) if we do the 9 game thing. That would give UGA 9 conference games, a BCS foe(gt), A MM FBS team (GSU) & leave us with 1 FCS type game...

I don't understand why UGA would drop them because they move up.

Are they asking for more money or something?

Yeah, I don't know why it would matter either. I love playing them before tech as long as CPJ is still there. They will ask for more money but I'd rather give it to them than a North Texas.

It makes practicing for the option more worthwhile. Maybe schedule GSU close to last week.

ETA: Only for another year or so. Then you won't need to practice for the option

In 2012, not only did Georgia Southern play a more competitive game with us than Tech, they brought way more fans.

Went to Tech in 2011 at Sanford West and the fan in front of me wore a Member's only jacket and read a book the entire time. His boyfriend would occasionally play grab arse though.

In his defense Bobby Dodd is the quietest location on Campus and with the crowd you would have to be pretty unlucky to be the victim of errant bullets flying around from the inevitable driveby....

I would think GSU moving up would make them a better foe. I didn't like us playing them when they were in the lower league because us winning meant nothing and, god forbid, us losing would have caused a dumpster fire the likes of which we have never seen....

That 2012 game was a pretty good one. OF course you guys started pulling away at the end because of your depth.

But I believe if we had tied the game up in the 2Q like we alomst did it would have been a closer game than that.
