so recently I posted "what is most liberal SEC school" LINK

since then the recent Princeton Review survey results have come out. No surprise, no SEC school were in the top 20 of the liberal categories, but here are the school showing up in the conservative categories:

Most Conservative Students:
Auburn #1
Texas A&M #2

Most Religious Students:
Texas A&M #12

Most LGBT-Unfriendly:
Texas A&M #11
Auburn #14

Future Rotarians and Daughters of the American Revolution:
Auburn #9

note: Schools on the list "Future Rotarians and Daughters of the American Revolution" are those at which surveyed students' answers indicated their personal political persuasions to be very conservative, low levels of acceptance of the gay community on campus, high levels of popularity of student government on campus, and a very religious student body.

How these are tallied:

I'm happy for them for once. They needed a "pick me up."

I will say that it's surprising to me how many people I knew in college that are now out, who went above and beyond to conceal it at AU. I knew two people who were out in college. About 5 other people have since come out. Makes me think there in credence to this part.

On the real though, State is far and away the most "conservative" school.

In other news (from the same survey):

quote:

Athletics were obviously on Auburn students’ minds as well: the school came in at No. 11 among jock schools and ranked No. 13 in students packing out the stadium.

Auburn students’ survey answers also placed the school at No. 4 for student-community relations, No. 11 in “Jock Schools”, and No. 13 in “Students Pack the Stadium.

The University of Alabama students came in at No. 9 among “Students Least Likely to Study”, the category they led in the 2013 ratings.

I don't know when you went to AU, but I know plenty of people who are now out. None of them are in fraternities, but I can think of over a dozen folks. That's not an insignificant number.

May be who we hang out with. I was in a fraternity, and those 5 that are all out now were in them at the time.
