VERY positive article about Malik's visit over on 247.

quote:

Based off the intel we’ve received from numerous high level sources regarding five-star linebacker Malik Jefferson we feel like Texas A&M is currently in the driver’s seat for the Under Armour All-American after his official visit to College Station.

We’re told A&M did everything they needed to in order to impress the entire Jefferson family. Everything from a personal birthday basket when he arrived to his hotel, personal tours, and even when the weather got bad and because of his mother’s back issues, they were able to watch the game from a suite in Kyle Field. Kevin Sumlin also invested a ton of personal attention to the Jeffersons from the moment they arrived until they left the Bright Complex.

Coming into this weekend, Jefferson and his family had a lot of questions ready for Sumlin and his staff. Mrs. Jefferson was and has been worried about housing and Mr. Jefferson wanted to hear about his son’s role in the defense. Those were all addressed before the family left Sunday afternoon and we’re hearing Malik is content about a future in Aggieland despite the uncertainty around defensive coordinator Mark Snyder. The staff really hammered home playing next to Myles Garrett andDaylon Mack and Malik knows those are key pieces that will allow A&M to be successful in the long term.

A lot of people are worried about the “now” and this year’s wins and losses but, if that were the case, Jefferson would be considering TCU or Baylor more. This is a long-term decision

If we can land Malik and Sheffield along with keeping Mack then go make a high profile DC hire I will be back at spring 2013 jar levels

No idea what Sonny has heard that makes him think that but I've always heard it was A&M/tu with an outside shot at Baylor or OU.

He's pretty close to his fam and wants to be near home. His older bro plays at UNT and his parents would have to choose between games if he goes out of state. In state, it's possible they could go to both as UNT plays a lot of weird times and some Fridays, etc.

Isn't Sonny the LSU mod who is dead-arse wrong most of the time?

Sonny is the guy who claimed Speedy lied to his face after the 5 for 5 debacle.

I'm sure he's also the one who made up the robbery charges too.

That was Hamm. He made a post HEAVILY insinuating Speedy was the guilty party, then Ketch and a couple others ran with it on twitter.

Hamm never actually used his name, but he was at fault.

Somebody check my math.

By my count, we have 24 scholarships available without attrition.

By my count, we can sign 31, back counting 6 towards the 2014 class (Signed 21 in 2014, 4 counted towards 2013).

Oh, and Kameron Miles committed to Boise over the weekend.
