The word from Fayetteville following the end of the Razorbacks first practice of the fall season is Mekale McKay, wide receiver, has expressed his desire to leave the team. He was not with the team today and has told head football coach Bret Bielema he is interested in exploring his options to play in a style of offense that was in place before Bielema’s arrival. He has not been granted a formal release as of this writing.

Anyone know why he wants out?

Sounds like he wants to be in a air-attack offense.

If he gives a shite about the offense, then so should we.

It will hurt out O-line depth having to move Cook out to replace his blocking.

basically he got buried on the depth chart under the new staff and didn't like it a lot

Yes. Chaney basically never talked about him.

Also rumors about him not completing the "work and goals" given to him for the summer.

Pretty sure he was the one who said "I don't give a frick. Why should I? Nobody else does..." after the Rutgers game last year.

Thought so. Good riddance.
Don't have time for a shitty attitude ... especially this season.

He was talking about the quote, I do not recall it being printed/published/talked about in the media for a link.

It is similar to the fist fights in the locker rooms and practice while Pel was here that was never talked about in the media for example.

This somewhat saddens me.

It's obvious McKay isn't getting sound advice from a place he obviously listens to. It's entirely too late to seek out a transfer to a reputable school.

This late I the game, you let things play out. If the offense truly doesn't make you happy, then you transfer at Christmas break and give yourself time to find a good home for the last two seasons of your career.

I've always been one that believes you're only a product of the situations you put yourself in. Transferring now, does not put him in a situation with many opportunities IMO. At least, as many as there would be in a few months.

Why is it too late? It's not like he could have played this season if he had transferred back in may. And if he doesn't want to play in this offense then why waste a year of eligibility here?

CBB said yesterday that he wasn't around in the summer. Strike 1

Buried on depth chart. Strike 2

CBB consulted with him on "exploring options". GTFO.
