Recruits love to say that, "Coach Saban gets players to the NFL" but they fail to realize that Coach Saban only gets them there, he doesn't stay with them.

The NFL is a job in which players are judge on their on field production not on their school affiliation or how many NC's they possess. Players are expected to be self-motivated and disciplined. There is no hand holding, no loss of scholarship or *dodge charger, and attitudes of entitlement rarely lead to success. Most players coming from the cocoon of Tuscaloosa are not prepared to confront this reality. By the time they realize "the process" actually isn't applicable to the NFL, it's too late because someone younger, stronger, better has taken their spot.

Most will say getting one NFL contract is great but as we approach HOF weekend, I find it hard to believe that true athletes and competitors don't dream about winning the whole thing

So what would you rather have bro, a team of so-so players that get you 7-8 wins each year and tear it up in the NFL, or great players that bring home crystal that suck at the next level?

You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Nah, they just get burnt out because they slowly get worn down from dealing with him

It is weird so many Bama players especially on defense fall short in the NFL. Maybe its there is so much talent there they don't work as hard as other players in college because it's good enough. THere is the theory that big school QB's will most likely struggle in the NFL because they never have to learn to play with even competition(Manning, Brady only two great starters from major programs).

Emotional and physical burn out probably plays a big part in this phenomenon.

Pretty sure Saban is paid to win college games. He does that more often then all of the frick sticks combined that ever coached at Auburn.

Always been my theory. Burn out mentally and physically. Who knows though. Need a few more years to evaluate really.

Pretty sure Matt Barkley was looking a Sanchez, Matt Leinart, and Carson Palmer as his draft stock fell . . .

That being said, I present Cam Newton as a counter argument and also point out that of the Manning's, Eli of Ole Miss is the one with two SB rings. Cam and Eli, along with Jay Coutler all played against tough SEC competition which definently makes a difference

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it Parcells who said a QB must have started around 30? or so games before he would consider drafting him

fricks will be given when Alabama has just as many losses in 1 year as we have in the last 6.

Yeah, I guess I misread that some... My bad, but you can see where the mistake can be made right?
