BenJarvus Green-Ellis is still listed as the starting tailback on the Bengals

Seahawks LG James Carpenter showed up to training camp in the "absolute best shape" of his three-year career.

The Bucs released their first unofficial depth chart and listed Luke Stocker as the starting tight end.

CSN Bay Area reports 49ers first-round FS Eric Reid has gotten off to a "solid start" at training camp and is the front-runner to start.

Free agent TE Leonard Pope is participating in Bears training camp on a tryout basis.

Sidney Rice has returned from Switzerland, where he received non-surgical treatment for knee pain.

The New York Daily News considers Rueben Randle the No. 1 star of Giants training camp so far.

SI's Peter King reports the 49ers believe rookie Marcus Lattimore (knee surgeries) could be ready to practice fully by midyear.

Second-year CB Brandon Boykin is reportedly having the best training camp of all the Eagles' corners.

Coach Pete Carroll praised second-round RB Christine Michael on Thursday.

NFL suspended Vikings G/T DeMarcus Love four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Coach Gary Kubiak expressed some frustration with third-round DE/OLB Sam Montgomery

Patterson is the 4th WR for the Vikings right now, expected to move up as camp goes on.

Luke Joekel is being called "as advertised" and a "homerun" based on his work in training camp. He has apparently has been owning the Jaguars' DE's.

Morris Claiborne has been solid but not spectacular. Still no picks in training camp for the second year 1st round pick.

No one though had a better day than Tyrann Mathieu, who picked off two passes, including one in the end zone on a ball thrown by Drew Stanton.

"Definitely, by far," Mathieu answered when asked if it was his best day of camp. "Any time you can get turnovers for your team -- I think I had a forced fumble too -- any time you can get turnovers for your team, it puts your offense in a position to score and that usually puts us in position to win."

Said fellow LSU alum Patrick Peterson, "Really excited for him. Hopefully, we'll have to find a spot for him with the first defense."

Right now, Mathieu is running with the second team, but is occasionally getting a snap or two with the first unit on dime packages (six defensive backs).

"He’s done nothing but good stuff," Carroll said. "He's very quick, lightning quick, a really good worker, he finishes, he makes an impression to you all the time about how he’s willing to bust his tail to get down the field and finish runs, finish blocks and all that stuff. He’s fast, and he’s picking things up so he’s doing good."

Pete Carroll's comments on Christine Michael.
