@jzenor: Saban: TE Malcolm Faciane is suspended. Alabama staff has medically disqualified DL freshman Darius Paige.
Anyone have the details. Hope Paige's issue is minor.

so after all the BS he is medically DQ'd. does that mean he is getting a med scholly?

Rumors on other boards, supposedly from Chris Walsh, are that Paige will never play at Bama. Must be something serious if doctors won't let him play at all.

"Darius Paige has medical issues that has caused our medical staff to think that it is not safe for him to play, so he has been medically disqualified," Saban said. "He is here, and we are helping to support him. He will be on scholarship. he will get an education, but our medical staff is working with him right now to try to help improve his condition. I can't comment any further on that."

Paige is the last kid Nick would just process on a whim. He was expected to contribute this year. He's lucky he was enrolled so he can get a free education. Sucks for the kid in a big way though.

I hate this about Paige, we worked very hard and so did he to make the grades to enter school. I do hope he gets a second or even thrid opinion.
