I remember Curley Hallman (LSU) and Terry Bowden (Auburn) wearing horizontal-striped ties on game day back in the early 1990s, but it seems like they were the last to do it. What other SEC coaches have worn ties since then?

True. Back then, men were men. That said, he loses points for wearing a short-sleeved shirt with it.

Tommy always wore a jacket over this outfit so he wasnt a distraction for the players.

Kristi has Gus wear nothing but a bolo during "games".

Sherrill did wear one at Miss State. Whether he did his entire tenure there, I don't know

ETA: I wish coaches would go back to it. It looks awesome

Remember when the NFL let Mike Nolan and Jack Del Rio wear suits? That was nice.

Al Golden is the last hold-out I believe. That alone makes me like him as a coach

Coach Sumlin would look pimpin with a shirt and tie on the sideline.

I'm just a CFB traditionalist (almost a regressive) in general

I was at the 08/09 Shrine Game that Stallings coached and about halfway through my buddies and I realized we were seeing a coach on the sidelines in a suit and tie for the first time in years (aside from the 2 examples of NFL coaches getting special permission).

I like it. There's something serious about a man in a suit and tie who can grab you and yell in your face and get away with it.

I want to see it too. However, I want the suit and tie bs done away with in walks and crap too. Don't make players dress up, it's not who they really are. It's football not church. UF I've seen dressed up and casual and casual is better. Coaches are paid professionals though, suit and tie should be mandated!

I think Jerry Claiborne wore a tie during games at UK in the 80's when he was here. Maybe not every game, but I do remember him wearing a tie some of the time.

I remember Billy Brewer with the short sleeves and neck tie. Always thought it was classy to see a head coach in a shirt and tie on game day instead of the wind shirts that are worn now.
