College Football Data Warehouse (using a decent but not perfect system - no such thing) ranks the 14 SEC schools like this nationally:
1 - Alabama
9 - LSU
10 - Tennessee
11 - Georgia
12 - Florida
14 - Auburn
^^Big Six^^ (Or Big 1 and Medium 5, whichever you prefer)
20 - Texas A&M
23 - Arkansas
28 - Ole Miss
35 - Missouri
40 - Vanderbilt
42 - MSU
47 - Kentucky
63 - South Carolina
Interesting that LSU has slightly overtaken UT in some of these types of rankings. UT used to be the clear number 2 school in the SEC (and still has the second most SEC titles, although UGA is only 1 behind and LSU only two behind and Florida is 5 behind but has obviously been making up serious ground the last 20 years). LSU and Florida have made up serious ground in the last 10-20 years.
Also interesting just how far back South Carolina is in these types of rankings (huge gap between SC and the 13th team). Just shows you are awful they were historically pre-Spurrier.
Would you change the order in any way from an all-time historical perspective?

Would this thread have been started had Bama not been #1?

Yes as long as they are still #1 in the SEC. Why does it bother you that the thread was made?

Why not? It's not like that is big surprise. The meat / discussion points of this post is in the rankings outside of 1.

Don't show this to Aggie. They think LSU's sense of accomplishment is way overblown and that they are LSU's equal.

That site takes into account, and credits equally "accomplishment" Pre-WWII.
LSU was the most feared program in the 90s, no one wanted to play them. LSU wasn't the last new SEC-W team to make it to the SEC-CG.

Vanderbilt has been to what, four bowls in the last 50 years? UK, State, and USCe have all been to that many since 2007.

The were good pre-1960s.
Their formula equates being good in the 1890s as the same as being good today.
If you won a bowl game in the 1920s and the local paper proclaimed you to be "X Bowl National Champs" and your school claims it, it is given the same weight as being a BCS-NC in their formula.
