Off-Season Thread: Would you straight-up swap Vandy for Duke?

Both are top-class universities.

Both are generally football cupcakes.

Duke brings the ever so important new market/state card, along with a top basketball program.

I like Vandy, but I have no attachment to them whatsoever. I see a no-brainer yes, however, I don't know how much you easterners care for them.

As a long time SEC fan I'd rather keep Vandy (founding member), and as a Duke fan I'd rather they stay in a stable ACC (which may or may not be the case in a few years).

Agree with the sentiments that Vandy was a founding member. They deserve to be here.

Not a chance in hell I would swap Vandy for Duke. Vandy is on the rise (especially in baseball), Duke is a 1 trick pony.

If this scenario were actually realistic, of course we would. We already have UT covering the Nashville market and Duke would bring in the NC market. They also have actual fans and nationwide interest. It's not even close to a tough decision.

No I wouldn't. They've been a fine institution in the SEC. They haven't done anything to make me want them out.

I also dislike Duke very much.

I like the founding member reason.

LaX program is pretty damn good.

So are most SEC teams (in sports people actually watch). And then you have a handful of no-trick ponies.

I'm surprised I haven't gotten yes for reasons other than money.

Hell no. I would like to see us trade Texas A&M for maybe a Tulane or Troy.
