I don't think so.
In fact, I would rather put in actual seats with cup holders and arm rest and contract capacity to about 80,000.
Have the "best", instead of the "most".

Unfortunately, no one's interested in pleasing the fans they have in the stadium. They just want more fans in the stadium

They need to worry about the concession area. I went last year and it looked like a high school stadium until I went up the ramp to view the field

Until we start winning again, we aren't going to expand. This is probably just a mock up in case we start selling out and filling every game.

They have discussed adding more boxes in the past, but I don't think they are in a rush to add general seating. JHS is a loud stadium at current capacity.

Well the only way to let our AD know we will not accept the product on the field last year was not to show up and spend money.

I think our AD is plenty aware we were not too happy last year.
Gonna be a while before we expand. As others have noted we have to fill up the smaller games before there is a need to expand.
One thing about it, JH does have a massive footprint as big as any stadium. My estimation if the end zones are eventually closed in is 120-125k.

We need to stop scheduling these directional schools and we would sell out more. With the price of gas they need to make it worth it for fans to shell out their hard earned money.

This times 1k.
I have gone to numerous UT games and the running true joke is that it is a 70k stadium that seats 100k. The seats (bleacher bench numbers) are appropriate for a prepubescent chinese dog.
Not a direct shot at UT, thats just the only place I have gone to watch games since leaving college (I get free tickets - so maybe I shouldn't complain). I assume a lot of stadiums are that way.
Times are changing though: HD TV's, up and down economy, higher price of travel, SEC/ESPN deal, etc. You can't just build it and they will come. They need to start making the stadium experience more enjoyable.
Last game I went to was miserable (mostly my fault because I was hungover) but got to my row and it was standing room only 30 minutes prior to kickoff and everyone was annoyed they had to make room for us and acted like our tickets were not for the row. Within the next 30 minutes this plays out with two other couples who arrive (the last instance got past what I would call heated).
Kickoff and I have to switch places with my wife because the drunk Kentucky fan is either trying to cuddle with her or cannot stay on his feet (situation did not change after we switched so I assumed he was drunk enough that I too looked good to him).
Luckily his buddy was energized by drink and spent the entire first half yelling at the ref (who could definitely hear him from 200 feet away) about how unfair like the third play in the game was.
Never again. I will not go back unless I get OT rich and can afford box seats (I have gone to hockey games via box seats and that is an awesome experience).

Neyland is miserable.
Perhaps I should have just said that.

You wonder how much longer scheduling these rent-a-Ws is going to be economically viable. Especially since these tend to be early season games in September when it's 90+ degrees. Who wants to pay the freight for tix/parking/concessions/etc to sit in 94 degrees to watch Hometown U slaughter East Directional Tech 56-3? Big screen HD TVs and home theater systems make staying home too attractive to expect consumers to shell out big bucks for these glorified exhibitions.

I wouldn't mind adding more bye weeks if we played legit opponents rather than lower conferences

It would be nice, but hey I do know we pressure washed the seats this year.

I think a lot of schools are going to be cautious about expansion in the near future. With the new TV Contracts and TV technology increasing, the fear of what is going on with NASCAR the last five years is creating some fear. Fans are getting tired of the increase in cost of attending a game, when they can watch it at home on their 60 inch HD TV.

If JHS ever expanded they better expand the student section with it.

We need to add a second HD video board and somehow incorporate the old scoreboard so it is not lost for traditional value.
