You should consider it, too.

Gus Malzahn has the ability to frustrate good SEC defensive coaches. His HUNH has permeated the mind of his peers to the point that Bielema and Saban have denigrated themselves by requesting rule changes instead of manning up and playing old style defensive "iron man" football within the rules.

Defensive skill is probably not present in 2013, but Malzahn will handily beat Arkansas and will cause one aneurism in Saban before Smart pulls out a harder-than-expected victory.

FACT.

They could definitely surprise some people. I've been saying all off-season they could be the 2012 Ole Miss

I too think they'll surprise people and they'll be like Ole Miss.

Except I'm thinking 2010 Ole Miss.

I would be far from surprised for Auburn to go 7-6. I'd actually be surprised if they didn't go at least 7-6

What exactly would be a surprise year? They sure can't get any worse. Maybe beating one of the heavyweights? Could happen.. Doubt it. Will be interesting to see what the QB can do.

Even when we are 3-9 and y'all beat our arse, we are better than Ole Miss... how y'all have become so hyped in your own minds and the minds of others is shocking to me...

Auburn should be much improved. It's just a matter of time until their return to a great team.

That's what I have been saying. Most people around here don't feel that way though

Oh, and to respond to the OP... I'll be disappointed with anything less than the SEC championship. Nobody thought 2010 AU would be anything special...

The frick? I'm saying it wouldn't surprise me for y'all to get to 6-7 wins, play some good teams really close, and even get to a bowl. What's the problem there?

Gus should have plenty of athletes to work with. The one thing Chiz did well at Auburn was recruit. Losing as many games as Auburn has the past 2 season with that amount of athletic talent is inexcusable IMO.

I'm sorry, I know that seemed like attacking. I'm still just very confused how aTm and you guys think you're such a hot commodity...

I was saying I wouldn't be surprised if yall surprised people after an 0-8 year in the SEC with a possible bowl trip and 6 or 7 win season, which is exactly what we did last year.

You are correct, I guess it just irks me because it wouldn't be a surprise to me. I absolutely think we have what it takes to surpass any and all expectations with the right man under center

...with Cam Newton.

You forgot an important part of that sentence. Happy to help, though.

It's all about coming together as a cohesive unit; the exact opposite of what we did last year. People think because we were 3-9 we have no talent. That was all the coach losing control and nobody playing for the brother beside him. That's all gone

It starts and ends with the fact that you've never defeated us.

And that the 2012 A&M/Auburn game was public indecency leading to the firing of your National Championship Coach and rejection by our coach.

I'll say I was definitely surprised by them in 2012. But I don't think that's what you meant.

I just don't get the fascination with Malzahn. Dude is only six years removed from being a HS coach in Arkansas, has four years of BCS conference coaching experience (none as a HC) and of those four only two (2006 Arkansas and 2011 Auburn) would be considered successful. In those two seasons, he ran completely differet offensive schemes with legendary players at RB and QB. He has never had a great offense in a BCS conference without a transcendent player who will remembered forever.
