Mizzou is bringing in Peter Bailey, a low 2* DE from Hinds JUCO in MS for an OV this weekend. Currently committed to FAU, but has offers from Cal and k-state. No Mizzou offer yet, but of they're bringing him in then you have to assume he will probably get one. Not rated by 247 or ESPN, I'm looking for his HUDL now to see what he looks like on film.

High 3* Dee Smith announcing Friday. We were the favorite a month or so ago, but who knows now.

I think this is someone we should be excited about. He was named to ESPN's top 50 JUCO watch list (along with our own Chase Abbington) and here's an excerpt from Hinds football page from the game last week:
"Despite the high offensive totals on both sides against Jones, it was Hinds defensive lineman Peter Bailey (Kissimmee, Fla.) who was an absolute force on the defensive side of the ball on Saturday, finishing with 12 total tackles (nine solo, three assists), three sacks and one tackle for loss.
He is currently second on the team in total tackles with 55 (36 solo, 19 assists) and leads the team in sacks (6.5) and tackles for loss (5.5)."

If you guys get a chance to watch his HUDL video, give me your thoughts. I watched it and came away thinking that he plays DE more like a DT. Am I way wrong? He has some quicks, but tends to like to out muscle people. Uses his superior strength to try to tackle people standing straight up. Didn't see a single sack on his highlight video, though I didn't watch the last 45 seconds or so.
I like what I saw but tell me if I'm way off base on thinking the guy might be better suited inside. Seems to have the frame to add pounds, though I guess less time to do so since he's not coming in as a freshman.
Hinds is where Dennis is from right? And didn't we sent Greg Taylor from ESL down there?

Yup, same school. His 2013-2014 highlights aren't great, but his 2014-2015 highlights look way better. Tons of sacks, but you have to watch the individual games as there isn't a season highlight yet.

The guy is absolutely as strong as an ox but he's still tackling up high. More of his "tackles" aren't tackles as much as he grabs them by the shoulder pads and uses his strength to stop their forward momentum while they're standing up. Don't think he'd be able to do that to a Gurley type RB. But...I'm also sure that's is something the staff can work with him on and correct and if so, he could be a true beast.

I've been hoping we'd go after some Michigan commits and it's finally happening. With Hoke obviously gone after the season it's smart to poach from his commits now. He's the teammate of current freshman Brandon Lee too I believe.

Couldn't tell you his interest yet but we must have some idea with the Brandon Lee connection. He's scheduled a trip to Ole Miss, so he's looking. Obviously he's not staying at Michigan. USC also just offered him. If he wants to be fairly close to home and play with a former teammate next to him at LB, we might be a perfect fit.
Cornell Ford must be his recruiter since he recruited Lee. I would love to see us taking Indiana players. Kirkland is the 2nd best player in the state.

It would be interesting to know how Bailey has been coached to this point. It wouldn't surprise me if they play against a lot of run first offenses. His first move to establish position and hold ground against the run is very good. He sheds blocks really well. I like how he moves laterally down the line on outside run plays.

I actually remember this kid being discussed when we landed Lee. Shame it took this long to offer. Hopefully there has been clear interest shown all along the way despite no official offer having been made.

I actually asked about why we weren't offering this kid about 5 months ago. I know we didn't get on the Brandon Lee bandwagon until late, maybe they are using the same strategy with Kirkland.
What's the deal with Louisville being so attractive. They get a lot of those SEC transfers also. They can't be kicking our arse facilities wise, and we're SEC, what gives???

Petrino is a good a coach and recruiter. He may be a douche off the field and had he not wrecked his motorcycle, he would be contending with Arky in the west.
