Howard's announcement

Mizzou University. I'll give the kid a break. He is a kid and probably not used to being on TV. BTW - Can we sign his step-dad too?

I checked rivals, espn, 247, she scout. They all list Howard a 3*.

Man, wasn't going to watch more tape. All these late offers and I was starting to feel like, just give me TBJ please and I don't care about the rest. But I'll tell ya what, I like how this kid gets off the line. Pretty damn quick at that size. He just lives in the backfield. Even if it is highlights, he still spent a helluva lot of time in the backfield.

Yeah. His highlight tape really jumped. Amazing phone booth quickness. The only question would be if that competition was complete shite.

Low 2* Iowa State commit Josh Coleman 2* DT from Florida is taking an OV to Mizzou this weekend. He has good film though, at least mid 3* film.

According to 247 Mizzou offered Coleman yesterday.

Not sure if it's a hedge against losing Beckner or a straight addition. Either way, I like it.

i'm pretty excited about this kids' future. give coach Kuhl and coach Ivey a few years with him and see what happens. As a side note, it's really awesome to see the Tigers laying claim to the metro area again.

I think we want two of the three DTs on the board.

Coleman is in more as a hedge against Hawkins not commiting. UGA has come in with a late offer for Hawkins. Less likely we get him.

Exactly, they still want Beckner and another DT as well as a LB. We'll sign and place Josh Moore most likely as well if he wants. Give me Hall and Beckner and the rest is gravy.

I think it's more of a hedge against not getting Hawkins or that Robinson kid or whomever. I think they were looking at taking yet another DLineman.

Maybe it's just me, but DL seem like the opposite if QB's in recruiting. QB's are usually the first to commit to a class, DL seem to be the last.

On 247, you have to go down to the #41 Pro Style QB before one is not committed. #30 for Dual QB. For WDE, it's #4, SDE it's #1 and #2 and for DT it's #3, #4 and #5. Maybe something about the numbers???

The only way we take Hawkins is if he switches to the OL. Our coaches feel thats where his developmental ceiling is, not as a DL'man. If he wants to play DL he's y'all's...

I don't know much about Hawkins. Did he play both positions in HS or something? We're set on OL right now...

Yup, he's ranked as a DT but we think he'd be better at OG after a RS year. Profile says he's 6'4" but he's closer to 6'2" & doesn't fit the DT/DE profile Pruitt is trying to put on the field in Athens...

He's a solid athlete tho & would prolly do great in y'all's system since y'all seem to coach 'em up & get the most outta your DL guys.... Good Luck, he'll look good wearing R&B or G&B...

I have developed so much confidence in Coach Kul and staff that outside of TBJ, the rest are 6 of one, half dozen of another. So give me the guys that most want to be a Tiger and the guys who want to work their butts off the most.

No slight to Hawkins, but it doesn't matter to me if it's Hawkins, Robinson, Coleman or whomever. Kul will get them worked up.

After looking at all the tape, I gotta say I like Coleman the best. He's got great speed and explosion off the line. Beckner is more the hold his ground and dominate player, so having an explosive get after the QB DT next to him would be great.

One thing to keep in mind is that Brantley probably goes pro after this season. That leaves only Augusta plus whoever earns backup reps this year for that position. So we need a few bodies that could maybe start getting in the game as Earle as their RS Freshman season.

Just looking at speed and penetration, Coleman seems to be the closest to Brantley's style of play.

Beckner is a better version of Augusta even though Augusta is no slouch at all.
