And to be clear, he's open to other positions. Tweet just mentioned him as a rb.

I'm hoping for good news.
What other positions do you see as a good fit?

He could play RB, WR, DB and return kicks.

He will commit to Mizzou tomorrow from everything I've seen. Our biggest threat seems to be MLB. He's projected to go in the 10th round, but some have said he could go as high as in the 5th. If he goes 8th or before then it sounds like he will sign to play baseball. He is very athletic obviously but apparently very raw at baseball, so this will be one to watch.

Seems like a pretty weird arbitrary cutoff.
Wouldn't it have more to do with the bonus offered?

You are exactly right. Idk why that cutoff, it was just posted by a guy who knows MD on the PM thread I was reading. From what I understand, the bonuses fall off a lot after the first 5 rounds and isn't typically very high in the late rounds. I don't know much about the MLB draft, hopefully someone on here knows more and can enlightened us.

Each draft pick has a slotted amount. A team isn't penalized for paying over or under that slotted amount for an individual pick but are penalized if the aggregate of all their picks exceeds the aggregate of the slotted amounts. So you could have a senior in college (who typically get lesser amounts because they have no other options) get drafted with the 100th pick which might have a slot value of $500,000 but they only pay him $10,000, so the team would have an extra $490,000 to play someone else without getting penalized.
Generally speaking, after the 5th round the slotted amounts are under $300,000. After the 8th round your more around $150,000. Having said that, there are picks outside of the first 10 even that will be offered more than $500,000 even though the slot is like $10,000.
It's way early to know where MD will get drafted, but I'd imagine that we're talking after the 5th round. Harrison went 50th overall, in the 2nd round, signed for 1.8 million, which was almost 700k over the slotted amount. I suspect if MD is offered $500,000 or more, regardless of where drafted, he will go pro. Otherwise, he's better off playing college baseball even and entering the draft in a few years.

Ive read safety, kick return. But if Strong does go Juco. That opens a rb slot. We know abbington and williams are rb's

TBJ
Visiting Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon, Auburn and Mizzou in Nov-Dec......not bad competition for Mizzou! His mom says she will be at his games no matter where he plays. Just hope those other schools are not offering travel for his family.

I think the key distinction in her quote was
quote:
“Without a doubt I will be at every game I can possibly make as long as there is breath in my body. Wherever he decides to go I will be there. I will be in his corner 100-percent.”
I think the bolded portion is what may help Mizzou, among other things. What they can possibly make, not just all of his games no matter what.

If TBJ's mom wants to attend his NFL games, then there is only one choice...MIZZOU.

Does anyone have any idea when Doherty is announcing or how?

Probably evening. There are no classes so he could have done it already and it is the holidays.
