Frazier is a beast. Watch his highlights, he has a super quick first step and is an elite level pass rusher. Coach Kul will have him as an all conference player before he graduates.

That first hit on that HUDL film just blew up that QB. Might be a penalty these days. But I'll take it.

First impression...the fields they play on are shite. Worse than the local high school fields. Felt bad for them.

Regarding Frazier though, yeah, seems really quick off the ball and a high motor. Definitely fills a need too. So will he have 3 years left to play?

"If I'm really serious about getting to the next level, which I feel like I am, then it really kind of boiled down to a no brainer," Frazier told the website. "Mizzou has had back-to-back SEC defensive player of the years that happened to be defensive linemen. They had two draft picks last year from the defensive line and they'll probably have two again this year."

You'd think that sort of track record would start to pay dividends. Glad to hear it.

That quote needs to be shouted loud and clear to all DLine recruits. I'm sure it is by the staff, but to hear it from another recruit speaks volumes.

Brian Austin tweeted tonight it's possible we take two more juco players in this class. Did not specify name or position but you can look at his and Petes tweets to see them talking about it. Seems like a win now recruiting class if that is the case, knowing solid talent is coming up but need more guys with experience.

So if two more what positions are people thinking? WR, OL or something else?

Thanks for all the updates guys. Super thread.

A blurb from the Post-Dispatch...

quote:

Another junior college lineman commits to MU
For the second time in a week, Missouri has picked up a verbal commitment from a junior college lineman. Marcell Frazier, a defensive end from College of the Siskiyous in Weed, Calif., committed to Mizzou on Thursday, he told PowerMizzou.com. Frazier, listed this season at 6-5 and 246 pounds, is from Portland, Ore., and signed with UNLV out of high school. He had 11 sacks, 16 tackles for loss and 32 tackles overall in 10 games this fall for Siskiyous. Frazier initially committed to Idaho in high school then signed with UNLV. Frazier is expected to enroll at Missouri next summer after he finishes his second year in junior college.

The still want Howell at OT, who was a 1st team NJCAA this season, then a WR. There hasn't been much if any talk of who the JUCO WR might be. I could seem them taking another DE if they miss on Howell too, but that's my opinion only, haven't read that anywhere.

I would like to see us finish with Doherty, Beckner, Davis x 2, Hentges, Howard, Davis or Julis, and a LB. That would put us at 22 commits which is where we want to be.

Is 22 the scholarship number? Cuellar counted for Lawrence Lee's spot last year right?

85 is the ultimate number. Excluding the seniors and Ray from the count and adding all of the current commits to the count, we are currently at 81. That means we have 4 more spots available as things stand right now. That makes 18 the number as we are currently at 14.

To get to 22 in this class, 4 more spots have to open up, either by scholarships getting yanked (who is Hurrell that is on scholarship and why Baggett?), some kids transferring (Hunt? Walters?) or some current commits having to go the JUCO route (Strong?). My guess is the staff has an idea of who might not be on scholarship/the roster next year that currently are taking up a space.

Correct me if I'm wrong with my numbers guys.

From everything that's been said, I think getting Hengtes is a pipe dream. If he wanted to play for Mizzou, he would not have committed to Bama. That is a kid that doesn't want to go to college in his back yard. The Davis twins? Maybe.

I kind of wonder if Odom will have any effect on recruiting.

I could see him take one last final shot at Ofodile. Yeah I know, it's probably a wasted effort, but it's pretty obvious immediate PT is probably much more likely than at Oregon.

And I'll say this, if we can shore up WR & DE, I think we're back in contention again. East will still be down next year.

I agree Semo. The only way we have a shot with Hentges is if Bama decides to yank his scholarship because some have him dropping to a 3*.

I'm beginning to question the Davis twins too. I get the feeling that their initial response was somewhat of an emotional reaction. As time passes, those emotions will subside and if they have grown up and always been Nebraska fans, that that will win out in the end. The more I think about it myself, I don't know if I would want them to commit to Mizzou unless it's because they WANT to be at Mizzou as opposed to committing because they no longer like another place.

Frazier coming to Missouri can also mean that Coach Kul promised him he was staying. No matter who the DL Coordinator is. He could be blowing smoke up a certain orafice but that is a good sign.

On a different note I was looking at JC Recruiting website to find some info on Frazier. No info on Frazier but I saw that Harnett Gill was a 2 star DE at a CC in Cali. Cincy and UTSA were looking at him. I guess that foot was a problem on the Oline but not the Dline

Hurrell is the long snapper

Look for RS Juniors that haven't cracked the lineup to graduate and transfer to open up spots. That's how we did it last year.

RB......................WR............WR...........WR
Hansbrough..........Moore.....Brown..........Richard
Steward...............Blair........Leftwich........Hall
Witter..................Floyd......DiLosa
Abbington
Hunt
Walters
Strong
Williams

Man, we return 3 WR's with any playing experience, can just barely fill a 2 deep with returners if you include the redshirt guys, can't even get 3 deep with the current commits. IMO we either need to get 1 or 2 more WR's or 1 or 2 of those RB's need to flip to WR. And that doesn't even include Doherty on the list of RB's. I'm more convinced a guy like Perkins or Hilton will play WR because it's a quicker route to PT than DB.

Not too many to go around. Berkstresser and Clayton Echard are the only ones that look to me as possibilities. Perhaps Tyler Hunt will lose his.
