RD's column in the ol' paper yesterday highlighted one of those details without saying as much.

Before Merrick's visit they made a big deal out of identity he's tied to his 'fro. The other official visitor they brought in to visit with him was FROholdt, who apparently gets called "fro" by his peers. They called them the "fro brothers". The extra attention went over well w/ Merrick.

I like how Merrick has kept saying that Arkansas is nothing like what other people have been telling him. He said he was told Arkansas was extremely country and nothing but woods and rednecks. He went on to say that once you get to Fayetteville it opens your eyes, and he was blown away from Tretola's celeb status around town and all the photo requests everywhere they went. He also commented how time and time again people were so nice, and they'd say hello and carry on conversations with him completely out of the blue and that Fayetteville was exactly how Pittman sold him it'd be.




I'd really be surprised if we don't land him. Sounds like other schools and fans are scared of the Hogs and going negative big time. It's nothing new tho.

I think we do. the best part about the OL is unlike other positions you can play 5 or 6 of them at the same time. Can only play 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 4 WR (in our offense) on any given play.

Recruiting 2 bad arse big time guards... well they both can play together. Most OL need to be able to play multiple positions to increase their value at the next level anyway.

We need to prepare ourselves for the fapping after this class is completed. I think we'll flip a couple that none of us expected too.

I'd be very happy w/ a Barnett, Merrick, J. Allen, Rogers, Jackson OL haul.


I also would not be surprised if we flip the Weathersby kid from Texas. There's a kid from Jacksonville, FL committed to UNC that it appears we're not in on that I'd add to my wish list for our development program.

Got a nugget from a very, very high person in Hope, AR athletics regarding Agim the other day. Said he loves Arkansas but also is likes Oklahoma and is really intrigued by Stanford and is going to visit. Person also said Agim has no idea where he's going to go, just really enjoying looking at all the options right now.

Tenner is going to Tenner.

Butch will find a way to sign another top 10 class and then process down to the limit. Either through attrition or other means.

Why the NCAA, and more importantly, the players he's signing, don't see what he's doing is beyond me.

He's brought back the Fulmer method of recruiting. Bad part of it is that it did work for Phil...up to a point.
