I also wonder if KJ Hill has made any progress in getting Allen to flip? Unlikely but GD it we need Allen and he's going to fricking get out of state and tear it up at UF when our hoops program is big time on the rise. Every single prediction for him was Arkansas too, like wtf happened?

Maybe he won't sign in the early signing period next month (Nov 12th-19th) and will wait until the regular signing period in April and when we get into the NCAAT and wreck some fools he'll flip.

quote:

"For a guy his size, he moves tremendously well," Howell said. "He's got great lateral quickness and he's got great ball skills. Whether it's from the safety spot or somewhere else, he jumps routes well, he's really good in coverage, and he's a big physical guy, too. He's not afraid to come down and lay a hit. You're talking about a guy at 6-1, 215 pounds, chances are he's going to get a little bigger at the college level, so he's a linebacker-bigger safety kind of guy with cover skills and that's hard to find."

Yes, please. May I have another?

And it sounds like he's a great freakin' kid, too. I'm literally giddy after reading that article. Neon's comments, or West's relaying of them, got me pumped.

edit: Greenlaw pushes us to #18 on 247 with about 9 more players yet to come.

He's absolutely loving his visit so far, per reports.

And Jerry Meyer flipped his pick last night to Arkansas, and if you follow basketball recruiting much on 247, you'll know who Meyer is (the scouting director) and how accurate his picks are.

Naw bro our badass punter is the gem of the class. Dude is a baws.

quote:

OVERALL TRAITS
Size-Athleticism
5'11 190 lbs., good athlete, smooth and balanced.
Leg Strength
Very good punting leg, can hit 4.8-5.0 hang-times, ball jumps off his foot, very explosive hips.
Accuracy
Ball striking is consistent, very repeatable for a high school punter, accuracy is a strength for Johnson, can place a ball where needed.
Mechanics
Smooth and repeatable motion as a punter, very quick hand to toe times, can be a very effective college punter, very clean high school punter.
Bottom Line
Johnson has a strong leg, he is technically sound, his consistency should add value to a college program looking for a punter to play early, talented ball striker who is well ahead of his peers in being ready to play in a college game.

Dude's a 4 star punter. Should be rated in the 94-96 range.

If punters were ever rated that high, for sure, he's the cream of the crop.

It's so stupid that kickers and punters are as undervalued as they are by the recruiting services.

They should use the same eval criteria with them as other positions. There's no reason for there to be 50+ 4 star QB's when maybe 10-15 will ever be a starter at the school they sign with out of HS. A bigtime kicker or punter actually makes an impact on wins and losses all the time.
