So has Big Game Bob. I think aTm's alliance with the SEC has done a number on both those coaches.

note that Grant Teaff was the head coach at Baylor for many years.

It's simple: the Big Twelve is in decline and there is nothing they can do about it.

To be honest, Alabama really does have things that create and unfair advantage over Texass, competent coaches.

Tejas complaining about anyone having an unfair advantage is just laughable.

Honostly, WTF do you need with 21 "non coaching-support" staff?

WTH do they do?

Not a big fan of Mack Brown but I can see his point.

Not just A&M. Losing 1/4 of their conference, 3 of them flagship universities in their states and conference charter members, all of them AAU schools, all of the with sound programs, and replacing them with TCU and WVU? Yeah, they're no longer the power conference they were and they know it. They are definitely in a state of perpetual rustling.

If anyone other than the head coach of Texas had made this statement, it might have some credence, but Brown looks childish here. Texas could double the size of their support staff tomorrow if they really wanted.

wow.

as if UT couldn't afford it....and as if MB couldn't demand that UT fork over the money to do it.

this comment makes zero sense

Respectfully, I disagree with you. MB's point is that bama is, somehow, creating an unfair advantage on their own. He's implying that UT couldn't just do the same thing.

sorry but last I checked on the Forbes list, UT is doing okay in the funding department. they can afford the staff and do exactly what bama is doing.

if is argument is for some moral dilema, I'd love to hear it. but he's being a baby

Texas head coach Mack Brown said at Tuesday's Big 12 Media Days session that Alabama's recent success is due in part to having one of the largest support staffs in the country, something Brown thinks is an unfair advantage for the Crimson Tide.

I definitely agree with him. It is a significant part of their recent success and an advantage. Other SEC schools have caught on though. AU has dramatically increased their support staff in the past 12-18 months following the same model.

bullshite. Texas and UGA both have more than enough money to finance a support staff like Bama's. I don't know what Texas hang up is, but UGA just refuses to open up our fat arse wallet

Really it comes down to his use of the word "unfair".

It is unfair to schools without the ability to do the same, but UT is not one of them.

Some companies have more employees to handle a bigger workload.

Help the coaching staff do a larger better job. They are pretty much expert assistants for the assistants.

This sounds contradictory. You'd have a point if he was being a hypocrite or if he was the coach of a school who couldn't afford a larger staff. Either way, I have no problem with large staffs :nohomo:

I have finally heard it all. Just when you think Texas could not possibly do or say anything dumber.

Mack Brown - who has survived SOLELY by having a DECISIVE advantage over the schools he beats - and more RESOURCES at his DISPOSAL than ANY school in the COUNTRY -

says that. Ladies and Gentleman we were all wrong. This is the Douche Bag.

NCAA allowed additional staff. Saban had a plan and hired people very quickly. NCAA halted hires, but said didn't have to fire anyone already hired. Is that how it went? If so, kudos to Saban for acting fast. Brown's real beef should be with his own slow arse self. He should had a plan to grow his staff if ever it was allowed.

they lost 1/3rd of the conference, 4 flagships, and 4 founding members when you count colorado leaving for the PAC

Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri and A&M...for TCU and WVU. Not a good switch.
