Maybe it will look better in person, but it looks really mid-20th century in style. And remotely like a Catholic high school

I can assure you it will look better than it does now.

Looks nice CatFan. I look forward to my next trip to Lexington.

All $110 million of this is specifically for football upgrades.

I guess what I meant to say was it all for Commonwealth, or some of it for the Nutter facilities?

Is it expanding or renovations? If expansion, what to?

Both.

The first Phase will add 2,200 seats that will kick it over 70,000. Historically UK is in the Top 25 in attendance in the county according to the NCAA. Last year was poor because of Joker but if Stoops can have a halfway decent team they will come. UK is a school where going 6-6 can still fill the stands.

A portion of it is going to Nutter, but not a ton. The weight room and things of that nature need upgrades too, so that's where it'll go as far as non Commonwealth facilities go.

I didn't think they were adding capacity. Interesting.

Why upgrade Commonwealth? Isn't in good condition?

Looks better. No offense but your stadium is a shitbox. Looks like a big improvement. Glad to see UK putting money into football.

I don't think that any Kentucky fans would take offense to that. We know how bad it looks.

I really hated the new ribbon boards, and removing the Ring of Honor to put it up was just stupid.

They actually have plans for a new Ring of Honor, I believe.

It's hideous? It's the newest stadium in the SEC, but it looks like one of the oldest from the outside.

Just dated, it's 40 years old now. Needs a new facade and some updates internally, just like any 40 year old stadium.

I think that was money seats and not affordable to the average fans so it was not discussed so much in the press. Like if Rupp gets renovated they could fall as low as 18K because the suites will seat much less than the current upper deck where they will go in.

Problem is it was built in an era of really bad architecture. UK is generally behind the times when it comes to design so it was designed when ugly concrete buildings were considered fashionable. Terrible luck on UK's part as both Commonwealth and Rupp were not good times for good design.
