Not expanding. No need to. It's already one of the thirty largest college football stadiums in the country.
Commonwealth is the 35th largest Division 1 football stadium by capacity.

That is true. I just think a brick and glass facade looks better. Although I'm not sure how well that would go with the rest of Kentucky's campus. I'm sure it'll be fine

Admittedly, I didn't include schools that play in NFL stadiums.

I do too, but that's more expensive and there's already $110 million going into it. The final product, apparently, could differ slightly from that image. I doubt they'll go the brick route though.

I would prefer brick and glass. I agree with whoever said it looks like a catholic high school. To be honest I just don't like its style although the article says this may not be anything what the final proposal looks like. This is just simply something put out there by the architecture firm to get people talking.
All that being said it is still far better than what we have now. Metal beams everywhere!

I agree. That's why I called it a mini erector set (or a mini erection set... according to wade wilson... hmmmm.)
They could probably aim for brick if Nutter didn't need upgrades, but it does. The football facilities have been neglected for so long that there's so much work needed.

Yes, if you don't include those stadiums then UK is 29th nationally. I would add that Commonwealth is 11th in the SEC by capacity with no chance to drop lower in the near future (since MSU, Ole Miss and Vandy have no current expansion plans). At least you do have the biggest stadium in the state of Kentucky, even if your '12 attendance was less than Louisville.

That wont be the case this season. Before Joker ran our team into the ground, we were in the top 25 in attendance nationally on a regular basis. Season ticket sales are through the roof for next season, including student season ticket sales. We'll be back in the top 25 attendance wise again.

It's far better than that paper fortune-teller the Falcons came up with

I actually like the Falcons plans.

It hasn't been working for a while.

:kige : isn't working either
I kept seeing people say casty wasn't working, but I've been seeing it until today.

I like the concept, Commonwealth is so dated. I really hated the new ribbon boards, and removing the Ring of Honor to put it up was just stupid.
I wonder how much of the $110M is for commonwealth and how much for other sports upgrades? It all needs to be spent on football now that we have a coach who can help us complete in the East. This is the most excited about UK football I have been since Curry's first year, and I hope for a better outcome.

All $110 million of this is specifically for football upgrades.

Looks better. No offense but your stadium is a shitbox. Looks like a big improvement. Glad to see UK putting money into football.
