Question Regarding This New Gus/Bret Rivalry

It has become my understanding, from my various interactions with certain members of this board (including, but not limited to, WarEagleAlude) that there seems to be this "Cult of Gus" that exists in Arkansas, both in general fandom and in the high school coaching community. A group of people that seem to view him as Arkansas' "Golden Boy" because of his accomplishments coaching high school football, and impact thereon.
The question I would like to pose to my fellow members of the Flagship is this:
Is there a chance that Bielema, who is leading a crusade against the hurry-up/no-huddle, risks alienating a significant portion of Razorback supporters through his consistent attacks on Malzahn's philosophy - one that has spread like wildfire throughout the state's coaching circles? It doesn't seem very wise to be trying to "slow down" college football given the current situation he's in, especially when coupled with other comments he has made since arriving in Fayetteville that may rub recruits the wrong way.
I'll hang up and listen.

If he wins games at Arkansas, nobody is going to give a flying frick off a rolling goat turd.

That's the key word, and I feel like giving the finger to half of the state's high school coaches isn't exactly helping his cause in that regard.

I think you GREATLY overestimate the amount of people who revere Saint Gus.
Basically it's Shiloh Christian. The entire state below Fayetteville would tell Gus to frick right off in the high school ranks.

I coach high school football in Arkansas and I couldn't give a crap less about Gus. He doesn't coach here anymore.

I don't care what Malzahn does.

I know his family
I do not consider him some god
I do not consider him a golden boy
You are dreaming crap up because you are hogsessed
Auburn will suck donkey penis under Gus.
If you have any other questions for us just do us a favor and punch yourself in the testicles. Doing this will save us from damage to our retinas due to wasting our time staring at the computer screen thinking WTH.
On another note where the heck have you been?

Just a lurker mostly. I don't have the necessary posting skills to hang with all of y'all!

Thanks I guess only hearing the Auburn spin on Gus made him out to be a bit bigger in Arkansas that he really is/was. Though I thought I remembered a segment of posters here that were basically "Gus or Bust" during y'all's coaching search, but that might just have been HawgAlude spewing his fake "Malzahn fan" crap everywhere.

Due to disagreements with certain members of significance, I typically stick to the Auburn board nowadays.

People in Springdale LOVE Gus. Business owners in Auburn gear is not uncommon. Saying that, I have a hard time thinking that HS coaches in Arkansas are going to take offense or alienate BB because he doesn't like the HUNH offense. I think he's more of a local hero than a statewide Messiah

Malzahn's influence has faded as he left the state. If he stays at arkansas we keep all in state prospects forever but I don't know how good we would be long run. He's too new of a coach.
Malzahn is a good dude but I can't imagine it would be easy for a coach to say you should go play under gus malzahn he'll get you better equipped for the nfl than bert.
Overall I don't think it will be a problem recruiting against malzahn as long as gus doesn't start racking up NC while Bert submarines us.

Yeah, Blackie and Barry are still bigger legends in HS football.
Coach Outlaw was highly revered by people in the state, even tho he left to coach Texas HS fooball.

Truth. I'd say Gus I well liked by Arkansas coaches but not "revered". And, his wife is crazy/mouthy, which doesn't 't help.

I'll take coaching scandals for $1000 Alex.
This current coach is most likely to get caught banging a 20yr old intern?
Who is Gus Malzahn.

You would be wrong.
Gus may not be the greatest coach ever like Auburn fans have convinced themselves one year removed from convincing themselves he was the problem with their 8-5 finish in 2011, but he is a great person.
He is more likely to be caught jacking off while watching game film than he is picking up some hot young strange.

I think he was talking about the Bieladong banging a 20-year old. . .

I have more problems with this than if he actually was picking up hot young strange.
