Going to drive from Atlanta to Athens for the LSU game. Im assuming that its a 330 start. Mapquest says about 90 mins. What am I looking at on game day if I leave Atlanta at 9ish. I may take a limo but just need to know timing....thanks in advance.

If you're leaving at 9:00 I'd budget 2-2.5 hrs. Just depends where in Atl your leaving from. They are doing major road work on I-285 thru the end of the year on the N. side of ATL which can affect trip times tremendously if you do not know the alternate routes...

I'd do yourself a favor and leave at 7 AM. That will probably reduce your trip time substantially. Downtown Atlanta to Downtown Athens at 9 AM for a 3:30 kickoff would probably take 2 hours at least IMO. Getting into town after 11 AM won't give you enough time to enjoy the classic city.
Leave at 7 and you'll be in Athens by 8:20. Way better plan

Just take a helicopter...you can leave at 3 and get dropped off at the 50 by 320.

and don't go 316. I would highly recommend taking 129 in (farther up I-85)

If you're in town, I'd say go out 78. That takes you directly into Athens and you won't have to deal with 316, which can be a bitch on game days. 78 has a good bit of lights out through about Snellville, but once you get past that, it opens up a good bit.

Your limo driver should know this information in advance. You need to get new help.

Take I85 all the way up to Jefferson Highway (78) and take a right and that takes you all the way in to Athens. 316 will be horrible.
