TJ Yeldon Question/Fap Time

Yeldon surprised me this past year, especially with his toughness and ability to shed tackles. He looked pretty skinny out there for a RB. But after comparing measurables, it seems like he is around the same weight as our other stars, he's just a little taller. Maybe he carries his weight differently?
Ingram: 5'10", 215
Richardson: 5'11", 224
Yeldon: 6'2", 218
What are their 40 times, btw? It just seems weird that Yeldon is so tall, yet so effective. Especially when we know that Saban likes the shorter backs.

on their best days I'd say yeldon and richardson are high 4.4 guys and ingram a low 4.6 or high 4.5 guy

Richardson and Yeldon have higher-end speed, but Ingram was so smooth in the way he cut through the hole. I miss watching him play. It was like a work of art.

What would you say were (in Yeldon's case, are) each back's best traits?
I am trying to think of what Yeldon does better than all the other backs that we have had. I want to say that he is faster than all of the others.

I would say that crushing hope and dreams is his best trait. He successfully took the air out of AU and LSU.

Personally, I think he does a lot of the things Ingram, Richardson, and Lacy did. He's got the top-end speed, shifty feet, power, and even cutting ability. I think he's going to be better than any of the guys that came before him. We just need a reliable second and third guy to spell him some.

I hear there is a kid in La. that could fit that role really well in '14...

The earth's axis would tilt out of whack if LF and C-Rob ended up at Alabama.
I'm hoping Kenyan Drake or one of the frosh 'backs can do the job.

Yeldon has great vision and gets moving North to South in a hurry. His running style, whatever, reminds me of Eric Dickerson.I was surprised at his strength being a true freshman. He was like Amari. He was ready to play when he hit town.

How different is our season last year if AC and Yeldon aren't the studs they turned out to be?

Youre supposed to hit the space bar after commas and periods.

His build and gliding style remind me of Marcus Allen.

I think Yeldons size is very deceiving. He is lean and strong as hell. He is very shifty and has excellent field vision.
For what it's worth, Adrian Peterson is listed at 6-1, 217 lbs.

I agree with this.
And I never thought Yeldon looked skinny. Dude is ripped, hes just taller and lankier. He didnt look like a true frosh last year from a physical perspective.

Yeldon is a different kind of back than ingram and richardson were. Yeldon is very shifty and is very very good at making the defenders miss--his lateral movement is incredible. Ingram and Richardson excelled at gaining yards after initial contact and moving the pile. Yeldon is deadly in the open field.

Ingram and Richardson both measured 5'9 1/8" at the NFL Combine. Yeldon is probably around 6'0 1/2"...
In terms of their weight, it's really more about BMI.
Interesting to see what our RBs do this year as they ran behind one of the best run-blocking offensive lines in history. Last year our RBs averaged 4.2 yards per carry "before contact".

I expect similar yards before contact not because of our superior OL, but because teams will have to respect our passing game more than I can ever recall.
