Never been to Panama City Beach and I'd rather stay away from the "Pineapple Willy's" tourist traps. Any good suggestions on local mom & pop spots with great seafood?

Flamingo Joe's is cheaper and descent food. Mostly locals eat there.

Go about 20 minutes west and look for Red Bar

But it is more than 20 minutes West, more like 40 fwiw.

I would recommend Billy's Oyster Bar in PCB.

Can't disagree. Very good place to eat.

Dusty's Oyster Bar. Go for a late lunch or very early dinner.

Boondocks is really good too if you're looking for deep fried everything.

Lived there for 6 years and this is the correct answer. Captains table(get the grouper throats) or shrimp boat across the bridge in downtown PC are also great (PC, not PCB) red bar food is pretty good but it's a menu with very few options. The best seafood place in that area is the old Florida fish house, their sushi is great too. Fish house is only about 10-15 miles west of dustys

Schooners has good seafood too, could be considered touristy but it's also a local favorite.

Their fried lobster poboy is amazing

I'm headed to Hunt's Oyster Bar as we speak. It's a local favorite but expect a solid wait anytime you go.

Outstanding food.

ETA: its across the bridge in Panama City, not PCB.

I love red bar but I feel like it's kind of over rated. And the cash only thing is a nuisance

Schooners is my by far and away favorite place to go. I go every time. It's not really for the food, as it's good not great. However, you don't get a better laid back, beachfront vibe anywhere else down there. I love sitting there for an hour or two sipping on Coronas.

It keeps their prices lower. There's an ATM there, so it's not that big a deal...

Parents swear by this place. But yes, it is always a wait.

The main shucker there, guy with a braided pony tail, is like a 3 time world champion oyster shucker, no lie

The "dusty's baked" oysters might be the best dish on the gulf. Dustys has recently started getting in oysters from Texas as well as Apalachicola and according to him the ones from Texas have a more consistent salt content

In Panama City a place called Los Antojitos has a really good ribeye. In rosemary beach a place called la Cocina has really good snapper. Captain Anderson's is awesome and so is red bar if you want crab cakes. I'm living down here for an accounting internship for the summer so roll tide
