One off game doesn't mean a player is overhyped. Do y'all think Clowney is overhyped b/c of the LSU game?

Todd Gurley is the best RB in the SEC and Aaron Murray is an elite SEC QB. I can maybe see an argument for Murray being slightly overrated b/c he seems to get the jitters during big games and can't seem to win anything, but everyone already factors that in to their assessment of him. He's pretty much accurately rated.

Well considering gurshall had like 70 total yards last year against us I will continue to say they are overhyped. Was saying it before we played last year.

Proves to me at least this guy has no idea what hes talking about and doesnt pay attention to players other than what they did against the cocks.

This guy gets it. I could see a case being made against Murray but some of UGA's big game losses in his tenure arent on him.

ETA: But some of his bigger wins, i.e florida last year, werent really his doing either.

Pretty sure Gurley also went for 100+ and 2 TD's against Bama.

I was only really impressed w/ Marshall in y'alls games against avg competition. But there's no denying that he's a true breakaway threat and it only takes a single missed assignment on D for him to have a home run. His talent has to be respected.

Against Florida and Alabama last year Marshall had a combined 6 carries. The only other game against above average competition i would consider to be USC and he had 12 i think? Regardless UGA was playing behind the whole game. Point being he didnt get many chances against tougher teams.

So what you're saying is against elite competition he didn't produce or wasn't trusted to produce. My point still stands. He has to prove it against the big boys before I start heaping praise on him. Gurley has done it and is deserving of the hype. Marshall, thus far, has not.

Fair enough I can respect that line of thought.

South Carolina fans dont follow what goes on around the SEC only what happens to them and their opponents. It allows them to make ridiculous statements like this thread is littered with.

Well that's a generalized statement if I've ever heard one. You realize what board you're on, right?

Like this guy for instance

He is clearly either an idiot, or he didnt watch UGA play except for the USC game. While i realize this is just one person and maybe not an example of your fan base as a whole, people like him give your fan base a bad rap at times.

I think he's totally cereal. Our QB put up more rushing yards with a bum leg last year than these two combined

Connor Shaw ran for -2 yards against Florida, Gurley ran for 118 and a td The more you know.

If you get riled up this much by what other fans post on their own board, you're going to have a tough time.

I agree with this. I think Marshall will be a bigger threat this year, because he wants to be a between the tackles runner to go along with his great speed. He has added some muscle, and I'm excited to see him play this year.

Yeah, and the point I was making isn't that Marshall isn't talented, or that he hasn't had a really good career thus far. It's just that I don't think you can mention him interchangeably with Gurley. Yes, they're different types of backs, but Gurley has produced at a more consistent and higher level.

Both will keep me nervous in Athens in September. I hope our green LB's will be ready.

Holy hell. I had no idea that I could rustle the jimmies of so many UGA fans on the USC board.

To those that point out Gurley had 100+ yards in the UF and Bama gamese, congrats, but hes half of "Gurshall". Marshall had a total of 7 yards in those games.

I could maybe understand all the butthurt if I said Gurley was overhyped or that UGA was an overrated mascot, but even yall should realize all the "Gurshall" nonsense is gimmicky as hell and that "Gurshall" was only a big factor in games against UT, AU and Vandy because those are the games Marshall had over 80 yardsd and also happen to be the bottomdwellers of the SEC.

But feel free to say I don't know anything
