Either one is an excellent choice, I went with the 5 because it's so compatible with my MacBook Pro.

S3 or S4. I have an S3 and I like it. An iphone is overated.

Lets put it this way, all my friends that decide to get rid of their iPhones and switch to a different phone end up going back to the iPhone within 3 months.

If you just want a phone that has internet, plays games, works 99% of the time, and don't care about the rest, get the iPhone. It's simplistic and it's a solid choice. Android is for those who like new gadgets and tinkering with them, and it has more functionality for those hardcore users. It can be more of a toy and more of a tool, if you care enough to dig that deep.
So basically it depends on what you like, because both choices are good. However, I'm personally not a big Samsung fan. If I were buying a new phone today, I'd get the HTC One. Give that a look.

I own an iPhone 5 and love it. Jailbroken though.
Never owned any of the Galaxies, so can't speak bad about 'em.

First it was blackberry, then it was android, now it's a galaxy note s4 whatever the heck it's called. All that time the iPhone stayed the iPhone and is only getting better while these other phones come and go with whatever "cool" celebrity they can get for the commercial. Be smart. Get an iPhone 5. I have no regrets about getting mine and honestly wouldn't even consider a different phone.

I-phones just don't do anything for me. I don't understand the hype. I guess if you've been using one for 5 years, though, you're pretty set on the platform. I had one for two days before taking it back and going back to Android.
My Note has a huge screen, is ultra fast, and does everything. Everybody is always going "holy shite, I want your phone".

I don't like my iPhone. Will be getting rid of it soon hopefully.
