Not exactly. Otto went to Scott County Central, which is more of a rural school. He didn't go to Sikeston, that's just the closest town with a bar.

I'm gong to admit, it's a little awkward watching Albert come to the plate against the Cards. He is struggling and I find myself feeling some sympathy for him.

A year after the move I feel like there can be reconnection down the road between Cards fans and Pujols where he can take his place among the greats wearing red on opening day.

I hope you're right. He did great things as a cardinal, and still has his charity in St Louis. I hope this smooths over.

Me too. I think it will.

I really think Albert wants it and I think its good for the Cardinals fans.

There seems to be some animosity between Albert and the Birds ownership. Thats where the wounds really need to heal.

Hopefully it works out.

I'll be honest, I completely forgot about Albert until this series. He's completely changed his stance, particularly where his hands are. I don't know if that explains all his struggles but I noticed it right away. Just doesn't even look comfortable at the plate.

Personally, I like the fact he's 0-7 with 3 strikeouts and 6 LOB. After the Cards series he can do whatever he wants.

As for him returning some day? I'm sure he will, but it will be years down the road. While he did great things here, I just don't think about him at all. The nostalgia just hasn't set in yet.

Not happy it had to be Pujols, but I do love the fact that the Angels got hammered with 2 huge contracts and little to no production from Pujols and Hamilton.

I can't believe Pujols is struggling this much. He was so gd consistent on the Cards I figured he would be pretty productive until hung it up and had several really good years left in him.

I figured he had another year or 2 of the stellar seasons. I could be way off, but I think the drop off is because he's changed his swing. Maybe it's supposed to produce a better swing but he's definitely holding his hands lower and further out in front of his body now. Just looks completely uncomfortable. His bat speed and quick hands still seem to be there. He'll get it corrected.

The Cardinals have placed 5 in the All-Star Game!!

Yadier Molina will start at Catcher, and Carlos Beltran in the outfield. Adam Wainwright is on the pitching staff. And Matt
Carpenter (2nd base) and Alan Craig (1st base) are reserves.

Congrats!! And Go Cards!!

Happy for Beltran. Hell of a player...he was my favorite Royal when I was growing up. Watching him rob HR's in CF is something I'll always remember.

Beltran seems like a great guy, and he's a heck of a player. Glad he's a Cardinal now.

Assuming he gets into the HoF, do you think he'll go in as a Royal? He was there for a long time...

No idea. I would love for him to, but it'll be up to him I believe.

Was hanging out up at Ballwin ballpark tonight for the metro collegiate all star game. Nice to see a couple Mizzou connections. I didn't pick up a program but I think a couple of Mizzou players played in that league and are playing in the game. Also somewhat of a Mizzou connection, David Freeze was hanging out. Dude was swamped by 7 year old kids and 20 year old girls. Poor guy had to apologize because he had to go to the bathroom.

I'm not surprised.

I hope they work it out so that he can stay in St. Louis. I really like him as a player and as a representative for the Cards.

Anyone hear anything recently on Carpenter? Really think we need him if we're going to make a push for and into post season.

Good night at the ballpark. Cards won big. Had a marriage proposal on the kiss cam (from the looks of it, she said yes), and kid ran into Nelly on the way out. If I get to it, I'll post some pics later.

That's awesome, Reedus!

And I guess you heard the news on Carpenter. I'm afraid he may be done.

Just figured we could have a thread for those of us on the other side of the state as well.

Do people on the east side of the state ever think about the Royals. Do yall laugh at the Royals? Do yall care about the Chiefs, etc.

I actually watch Cards games every now and then. Being in Joplin our news station show highlights of both the Cards and Royals. There's no radio network for the KC Royals in Joplin. We have to listen to the Pittsburg,KS network for Royals games. The Cardinals have a radio network here, have their AA team over in Springfield, etc. Seems like Missouri is definitely a Cardinals state.

As for the STL Rams. I don't watch any RAMS game. About 2yrs ago the Fox station in this area stopped showing the Rams, they'll show other NFC teams.

Another question....How did yall feel about the KU vs Mizzou rivalry. Was the Illinois vs Mizzou rivalry more important to fans on the East side of the state??
