“Over the last 5 years we have implemented a plan to strategically grow our budget to a level that is more comparable to those institutions we compete against in the Southeastern Conference,” Long said in the statement. “While we are not at the top of our conference in terms of annual revenues, I am pleased that we have made significant progress in growing financial support for our intercollegiate athletics program. Even as we continue our financial growth, we take tremendous pride in being one of only 23 financially self-sustaining athletic programs in the country. We will continue to be attentive to protecting all of our fiscal and human resources.”

The first bold line means we are getting much closer if you review years past, to which the gap has drastically closed with our competition. A 6.3% increase from the horrific last year.

I believe they mean that students do not pay athletic fees to mean "self-sustaining".

Arkansas and Alabama are the only two self-sustaining athletic programs in the SEC, IIRC.

I was wondering the same thing especially with the word "projected" as part of the disclosure.

Anyhow, we have been on a very steady northeast chart progression under this leadership.

Wouldn't the cost of the FOC, possible BOC, and IPF for baseball/track have to be factored into this years projection?

Those would affect net profit but wouldn't be a factor with gross revenue.

I only got C's in accounting so I likely don't know what I'm talking about.
