Should CWS championships pre 2003 get an *

Prior to 2003, there was no championship series and only a 1 game shootout for the final two teams. So do those CWS champs have less of a value than those after 2003? It's definitely a better format, especially in a game like baseball.
Pre-2003 baseball champs will have a similar rep as what I expect to happen to opinions on NCs pre play-offs in College Football. Kind of devalued. They are still awesome and a great accomplishment but not always the best team will win in a 1 game series.

Sure, I would but looking back I believe Bama would have beat LSU in a 2/3 format.

Too bad you are wrong about only 1 game shoot out. It was only when CBS had the rights on weekends that it was this way. It was a true double elimination tournament complete with crazy bracketing if games and if if games

Looking back? I doubt you can name a single player from the 97 bama team without searching.

Well, I had already graduated from Bama in the fall of 94 and had move to North Carolina. So the 97 team wasn't one when I was in School, is from 16 years ago and I have burned too many brain cells to remember players names. I remember LSU beat us bad and had the better team that year. LSU had won it the previous year. Bama had a very good team that year and I wish the CWS format would have given them a chance with the 2/3 format. LSU gets the glory and the trophy!
