From what I've read online, he's not playing this year and has moved out of his dad's house. He says his father was abusive which is why he wants to leave the state. That is why he asked out of his LOI.

Well there's some red flags.

Good shooter off the dribble. Didn't look lightning fast. Good range.

You don't want Phillips a kid that is an assist machine

I think Phillip's stats are the product of his team more than they are the product of his ability.

He didn't impress me in the admittedly limited time I've seen him. Non-shooter is the last thing this team needs.

Yes. Perfect comparison. Rajon Rondo, a 5* recruit who was ranked the 25th best player in his class and who averaged 21 PPG and 12 apg.

He will pass Rondo for the assists record at the school, but other than school and position they aren't alike.
I do think that he can break down a defense, which this team needs. Hope he has a runner and a competent shot for when teams go under screens.

Yeah because every 5 star turns out to be a stud......save your sour grapes for someone else and judge him after he plays a few games for us.

I'm on track to graduate this year but a lot of hard work ahead this summer! No shortcuts on this road to success. #built4this

Maker will most likely not play college ball. Apparently Kansas is leading for him. I think we are 4th or 5th on his list but I doubt it matters as he is most likely not playing college ball.

I keep hearing that, but where else would he be going? He can't jump straight to the NBA, and why go overseas for a year when you can go to Kentucky, play on the biggest stage in CBB, and win another national title?

He can go overseas and get a 7 figure contract immediately. Add on some marketing that his people will get for him and he probably takes in 10 mill by doing so.

The top recruit that was headed to SMU is playing in China this year I believe.

CBB really needs to do away with the one and done rule. Adopt the rule that baseball uses.
