Mizzou is involved with 6'9 204lb SG/SF Lukas Meisner from Germany.

quote:

Aside from BC, Meisner is hearing from "Missouri, Virginia, Nevada, and Columbia" The schools that are recruiting him the hardest are BC and Missouri and he has scheduled official visits to both schools in March.

Meisner is small forward that is known for being a good outside shooter. Meisner doesn't have any skills outside of his shooting that jump of the page at scouts, but he certainly would help a squad that shoots only 30% from beyond the arc.

While websites list Meisner as 6'8" and around 175-180 pounds, Meisner says that that information must not have been updated in a while. The German says that he is 6'9" and weighs 204 pounds even.

So what is important to Meisner when he chooses a school?

"First, the university and all the people involved with it. The basketball program needs to be as competitive as it can be. I'd like to get playing time but at the same time play against the best competition. The academics are important too," said Meisner.

Honestly, he seems like a taller Cullen Vanleer or maybe Stefan Jankovic 2.0

His highlights say he's at Columbia. Am I reading something wrong? Is that his team over there too? Is he transferring from Columbia?

Nevermind. The first time I hit that link, for some reason it played something different and every game included Columbia. Wierd. Maybe I hit a different video on accident once I opened that link.

ETA - Yepp, on the side there was a video for a Maodo Lao or something like that, who played at Columbia.

Haha, no worries. While this guy doesn't wow me, he does have a CVL type game but with 5-6 more inches. No idea how his defense will be.

2015 C Levi Cook is going to visit. He's a 3* and big at 6'10 and 300lbs, but that's about it, he's pretty raw to say the least. Looks like KA is assembling the 3* mafia, we'll see how that turns out for him.

Yeah, I'd say all of those pie in the sky expectations with the Bryant's and so forth are pretty much history.

Jolly is an interesting prospect. He sat out his junior year due to illness. When the final ranking come out he will be a top 100 player.

Couple weeks ago he was one of the top players at one of the big HS tourneys.

.@sentinelsportsn SG Austin Pope (@AustinPope_32) tells me he has been hearing from Mizzou. Had 17 pts, 6 rbs, 8 ast & 2 stl in 25 min Sat.

Unless the staff knows something we don't about guys leaving (and they very well might), someone needs to tell KA that we need a back to the basket big more than another G.

I think it has more to do with bigger programs coming in. Momma put a nix on everyone but Syracuse and I don't think he'll end up at Syracuse. I think the bigger problem is undefeated UK versus sub .500 Mizzou. Go check out the environment at an Indiana game and compare it to Mizzou currently. My guess is UK. I think the only way he doesn't go to UK is if all of their guys come back and that's just not gonna happen.

I saw that UK just got a commit from a 6 9" big. Here's hoping maybe that keeps us alive!! Hopefully Bryant is just far enough down UK's list that we still have a chance. Long shot I know...

Yepp, I hope so too. Who knows, maybe just one guy not declaring early for UK can make a difference too.

Missouri was on hand to see 2016 St. Francis (GA) five-star guard Kobi Simmons (@JordanKobi) today. First reported by @EvanDaniels.

I debated on even posting it as if it matters but anyways. We went and talked to someone.

Missed this and your post. The only thing that surprised me is that he didn't go to LSU. He was never coming to Mizzou.

@Dave_Matter: Anderson says he's looking at junior college recruits - "but not like five of them." Says MU needs some size/girth on the inside & a guard

Guess we're going to be looking for 2 more at least so someone will definitely transfer. First I've heard of a juco big.

Do you think the post season ban and the possibility of future sanctions against syracuse will alter Bryant's decision any?

I think Kentucky has a bigger impact. If a couple of their guys go pro, Bryant goes there.
