His family is well respected in the Stl area. They have a lot of connections. He is AAU teammates with the Tatum boys.

When the time comes, he will probably be a preferred walk on, but in the meantime, this only helps everybody involved.

I don't know him personally, just what I have heard.

I know he had a brother or something that followed Romar out to Washington and then never really did anything. I have heard a bit about this kid as Earl Austin Jr. is pretty good at keeping up with the lesser known players in STL (as well as the bigger). For whatever reason, I thought the Suggs kid would have been a decent pick up for SLU. Was just a bit surprised to hear MU offered is all. Is that really cool to do? Extend an offer, have it committed on, and then yank it and say you'll have to walk on? I guess if they're up front with him about it, then it's cool. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like good business.

It's the grandfather, not the brother, that is the important relative. He is involved with several businesses and serves on every board imaginable. He is a local leader, but also a national leader, especially in the AA community. It is a good connection to network in.

At this point, I don't think they have to yank anything. They were upfront with him that he is not ready to commit and will help him find a prep school. If the kid wants to play for Mizzou, I don't think scholarship money is the deciding factor and that is why preferred walk on is suspected. If they have an extra scholarship when the time comes, it is not a bad way to use one. They will most likely only play 8 or 9 deep anyway.

I don't know what will happen, but a lot could change before he signs anywhere.

Interesting. What do you know about him as a player. Like his height at guard. Watched a little of his highlights. Have you seen him play?

I don't know anything about him personally, but have heard he is a good shooter. The closest situation I can think of to describe this would be Kroenke. He was a decent player and could shoot, but there were other reasons he was on the team.

2014 4 star SG from Georgia Ahmed Hill cut his list to five today.

Florida, Florida St, Indiana, Marquette, Missouri.

Its great that we are on lists with schools like that. This kid is another big time talent, AAU teammate of Jakeenan Gant. Really think we are a player on this one. Not predicting him to MU but saying we have as good of shot as anyone in that list.

That's great news about Hill. Would be an awesome get, and I'm loving the way we're shaping up!

From talking with UF posters, they don't think they're pursuing another SG. They got one already and have other needs to fill. If they didn't have other needs, maybe they'd go after a 2nd. Who knows.

Seems FSU was the big name being tossed around with him and Gant before. Like our chances if that's the case and they truly do want to play together.

yes and just 2 weeks ago all the UGA insiders said everyone in Gant's camp was saying it was a UGA/FSU battle. They have always said they wanted to play together so that goes in our favor.

Plus I follow the UGA insider since I went to school there. They have been saying for a year now that Gant seemed like the guy who would want to stay home and that Hill was most likely not gonna choose a local school, that he wanted to go to a bigger basketball program further from home. (Indiana, Marquette, and us). So between him and Booker if we land one our class looks great!

On the other SG, Booker, sounds like they have a special night planned. Hopefully Devin will be there. Homecoming weekend. Back in the old Hearnes. Honoring the 1994 team with Booker on it. Should definitely make an impression. How about a half time surprise and retire his number too.

Ahmed Hill now has a prediction on 247 to Mizzou. I know we all want Booker but I think Hill might be more likely. Either way one of those 2 for our last recruit would make for back to back great recruiting classes.

You are absolutely right about that. Booker would make a special story and would be awesome in itself. But you're right, either one would be absolutely fantastic for the class.Amazing the job Haith and company have been able to do, even with the whole Miami thing not being resolved.

Some Booker tape from the summer, not that we need to see it to know.

I have resolved myself to the fact we probably won't get Booker, but getting Hill would be the best consolation prize we could probably hope for.

Booker is the sentimental pick for Mizzou nation, but Hill might be the better get. Nice problem to have.

Ahmed Hill the wing from South GA announced today that he is taking an official visit to Mizzou November 1st. If Booker has a real interest in MU then he better act on it before then cause if Hill hasn't committed to another school by that trip I fully expect him to do so when he visits that weekend.

I have always heard he wants to play at a big time basketball program, is more than willing to leave his home area, and has always stated he would be very interested in playing with Gant.

Wow, awesome news. Going to be a crazy few weeks as far as hosting basketball recruits go. If I remember correctly:

October 19: Booker's official
October 25: The throwback game honoring Booker's team(presumably Devin will attend too)
November 1: Hill's official.

Also, I suppose the good news so far is that Booker made his officials to MSU and UK already and so far hasn't committed to either.
