No. Neither of those networks had the power over their inventory that espn has with ours.

There'll be negotiations but it'll get worked out. To some extent, I think the wrinkles have been ironed out with what LHN, NFLN, and Big Ten Network have already gone through.
I get the Big Ten Network in Alabama so it's something that can obviously be overcome.

Well since the founder of Dish Network is a UT alum, I'm not worried about distribution here. I'd assume the SEC network will sell football and basketball as the reason for operators to buy in and bundle the other sports with it, much like when you buy a cable package and you get all kinds of channels whether you want them or not. That allows networks to start up and for cable companies to provide more content.

I was under the impression the LHN has no where close to 100% distribution in Austin.

Yeah, Time Warner Cable covers 70 to 80% of Austin/Travis County and does not carry the LHN.

I realize that. It's my understanding that the Big Ten Network is widely distributed throughout the Big Ten geographical footprint too.

The Longhorn Network is only available in 13% of the homes in Austin, and that's with AT&T on board.
Before that, the LHN was only available in 2.1% of Austin homes.

When ESPN puts UF vs LSU on the SEC network and UT vs Bama, and Auburn vs UGA and A/M vs LSU the network will have no problems getting on cable or cable providers will be getting death threats. ESPN can do this because they will get to put their games on either network of theirs they want to... SEC network will make big bucks...

Dish is everywhere. It's a major provider across the US and all but guaranteed to sign on. Other providers like Direct TV and the cable companies will as well.

SEC network has something the LhN and NFLnw (and actually the Big10 nw as well) don't: inventory and lots of it.
Besides the one CBS game each Saturday, espn can put whatever games it wants on the SEC nw
