Interesting nugget re: Lunt in that post: I was told Gundy might have been acting on behalf of Big 12 coaches in solidarity vs SEC.

So I wasn't surprised to see Stoops defend Gundy's decision, esp pertaining to SEC. It's evident Big 12 coaches trying to draw line in sand.

What isn't clear if there was some event that escalated the way the Big 12 coaches feel - or if it's just a gradual sort of irritation.

Correct. MT þ@labayouboy @TravHaneyESPN All this SEC conversation from B12 coaches started after their Spring meeting in Phoenix.

Haney seems to be suggesting that at the Big 12 meetings they made the decision to make a concerted effort to act tough towards the SEC. And this is why he blocked Lunt from going to any SEC school. The horns have been obsessed for years now but the rest of them are just now coming around I guess

They see the real possibility that they will not get in the playoffs.
Maybe Dodds told Mack to tell them to start a dog and pony show so no one will remember how they perform against the SEC in bowl games.

This is not a surprise. Just like them refusing to play A&M and Mizzou. They didn't get what they wanted, so they're pouting. And yes, they are realizing the full scope of what losing A&M and Mizzou to the SEC did to them.

They will really be sick of us kicking their arse in the Champions Bowl every year.
