LOL at People Threatening to Quit Watching Game of Thrones

It's glorious

A lot of readers said the same reading the book. Luckily he throws you a bone or two that gives you some hope in the 2nd half of the book.

Imagine how bent out of shape they'd have been if the Hound had clocked Arya in the head with the axe like he did in the book...... Lol.

There are aspects of his writing that I love, but parts of book 4 kind of began to turn me off a little bit. I mean I am going to read them all because I have to see how it ends (kind of like why I finished the Harry potter books and others) but I don't agree with how this has been crowned as the greatest fantasy series ever by many. Especially when we still have two books to go.

Unfortunately in a lot of the reader circles they have decided that the only legit fantasy is the "grey" fantasy. Anything with traditional fantasy characters and progression is viewed as unoriginal etc. A completely ridiculous argument but that is what you get on the Internet.

The about Martin that upset me is that 1) I think some of his character killings in the latter part of the series( not necessarily talking about the red wedding) seem to be for mainly shock value without really contributing to the progression of the story

and (2) the main thing is that here doesn't seem to be a ton of development with the main characters. Grey characters stay grey, the majority dont learn from their mistakes and most act the same in book 4 as they did in book 1. Sansa, Arya, and Tyrion seem to be the three that have learned and changes the most.

All of the above are simply my opinion but I would love to get in a GOT discussion with anyone who wishes to partake.

All of us book readers picked up on all the foreshadowing but if they couldn't figure out that something very bad was gonna happen this episode then they are complete idiots.

I've seen some people that say they lost their viewership because of them killing the direwolf or some other detail....phuck'em, read a book you stupid Hodor!

Those that took the time to read have had it significantly worse, not only was the wedding more brutal with the cliff hanger of Arya's death/survival but he had to wait 3 years now to get to this point, knowing what was coming all along. I wept like a little bitch last night during those scenes.

I knew it was coming and my heart was still beating fast. My dad knew that he was going to die and it was hilarious because he kept saying "not this episode, no way"

I looked at him when the music came on and was like "shits about to get real"

Jamie is one that has changed a lot, I may be misremembering but it doesn't seem like he has contributed a wholes to the story to this point though. His main contribution is his "kingslayer actions" which we did not see happen. But his character has definitely changed his attitude.

ETA: I don't know how much Snow has changed his attitude, I also don't know how far you or some other people are in the series so I won't give too much of my opinion on him.

I'd say he's a pretty strong contributor when you consider his capture, release, and the events thereafter and it's impact on the realm. I think he's remembered most for his kinslaying actions, but he's a cornerstone of Brienne's plot development as well.

And I've read all of the books and the Dunk and Egg novellas as well.
