Can someone give me a legit reason why the SECCG is NEVER played in New Orleans?

NOLA is the perfect venue to host an event of this stature, plus downtown Atlanta blows. Thanks.

The Super Bowl, SECCG, and NCG should all be played in New Orleans because its the best football town ever.

When was the last time a team that played in the SECCG played in the Sugar? It's been awhile if memory serves

Probably because murder is too much of a liability.

The only time state plays there is an occasional peach bowl so I can understand why you think downtown blows

It has been a while, but UGA did it when it won the SEC in 2005, and the Sugar Bowl happened to be in Atlanta that year because of Katrina. But when the SEC champion doesn't make the BCS title game, they will be right back in the Sugar Bowl.

Needless to say, LSU got relegated to the Peach Bowl when it lost the SEC title game in 2005. Back to back trips to Atlanta.

Because the sec's premier bowl game is there already. And they like hosting it in a somewhat neutral central location.
