What's all this tradition I'm missing with UA-UT? It feels so forced. In what ways is it a natural rivalry? I can understand UGA-UA from a historical standpoint but even then it's not like it's more intense than any other big 6 SEC game. It's been stated before that LSU-UF is an outstanding matchup, but it is not a "rivalry."

The intensity of that rivalry (UT-UA) could easily be reproduced with a high stakes game at Georgia or Florida or USC.

There are too many great programs in the East to worry about preserving some forced rivalry.

I think I know the problem Lsu fans have...

1992 Alabama 8-0-0
1993 Florida 7-1-0
1994 Florida 7-1-0
1995 Florida 8-0-0
1996 Florida 8-0
1997 Tennessee 7-1
1998 Tennessee 8-0
1999 Alabama 7-1
2000 Florida 7-1
2001 LSU 5-3
2002 Georgia 7-1
2003 LSU 7-1
2004 Auburn 8-0
2005 Georgia 6-2
2006 Florida 7-1
2007 LSU 6-2
2008 Florida 7-1
2009 Alabama 8-0
2010 Auburn 8-0
2011 LSU 8-0
2012 Alabama 7-1

Lsu has a problem in that they can't keep from losing games to win the conference. Only one other team, since 1992 has won the conference with 2 losses. Lsu has done it twice as many times. Lsu relies on teams to lose to win it, rather than win games to reach it. Must be nice to be SEC champ with 3 losses.

bullshite! LSU has been "relevant" for a decade now, and until recently, y'all didn't have shite to say about Bama/UT game.

Y'all didn't give a crap when UT beat Bama like a drum for years on end.

The Aubs haven't made a frickin peep either

In fact the Aub AD has tried to reignite the rivalry with UF as well, which we lost in 02' when the 2nd permenants were disolved.

Auburn aint scared of playing good teams

Doing it knowing we had a more difficult schedule is satisfying. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do something to fix the problem.

I don't give a crap about the Bama/UT game. What I do care about is Bama's schedule getting USCe taken off and Kentucky added on for the 2013 bridge schedule. That's crap.

why would LSU fans of the 90s have bothered to worry about Bama losing to Tennessee back then?

we were too busy getting beaten at home by the likes of Tim Couch and 10 future insurance salesmen

So since we were BOTH getting beat up it was all "fair"?

Honestly, Vol fans should be the one's whining about this.

Just didn't seem to matter as much. Times were a little different back then. Remember ties, no SECCG, and no BCS?

This is all a non issue if the powers that be hadn't cherrypicked Mizzou and UK for Bama the years they happen to have control of it. It's bullshite and you know it. LSU gets 2 top 10s from the east and Bama gets 2 cupcakes. I mean Jesus tapdancing Christ don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining!

It wasn't fair then and it isn't fair now. It has come to light, however, with the expansion. The transitional schedules being questionable as well as the fact that now cross-divisional rotating games will be so spaced out are bringing this all to light.

However, this isn't about just LSU as you've pointed out. If it isn't LSU getting hosed in the scheduling dept. it's someone else.
