Ely led @PlantFootball to a state title in 2008 and 2009. He'll enroll at #Toldeo immediately, per his HS coach Robert Weiner

Figured that was coming, but Toledo is an odd choice.

How many scholarship players does that bring us to with him and Woodson transferring?

So the #12 is available.

Bama QB's should have to earn that number.

85 by my count. Any more attrition (transfer, medical, signee failing to qualify) will open a spot for Bozeman or will allow us to award scholarships to walk-ons like last year.

I wonder if they would bring in Bozeman this year if another spot opens up

I don't see why not. According to Bozeman he was way ahead on his rehab and was completely cleared by his doctors to do everything a couple months ago. I really liked the kid's attitude so I'd like to see him come in with the rest of the class.

Same here. However, i doubt they do it because if i remember the reason given was his injury not numbers (cough, cough). Maybe we can just say he progressed much more than expected.

At the end of the day probably not a big deal (he is either going to greyshirt or redshirt) but i agree this kid had an amazing attitude and would love for him to arrive with RF and everyone else.

Good luck to Phillip. Poured his blood sweat and tears into our program for 3 years. Hope he does well at Toledo. Roll Tide.

Mad props to Ely on making what had to be a tough decision. Best of luck to him, and as a fan I really appreciate him working so hard and being a noble part of my fav program.

Agreed on Bozeman... His attitude was totally outstanding throughout, and even though he knew he was greyshirting, he still worked to help get Reuben back on board.

Great kid and a helluva worker. Hope it works out and he can come in with the 2013 guys...

Never understood why we signed this kid in the first place. I look for the McLeod kid to transfer sooner rather than later, too.

All you guys rooting against McCleod are shitty fans. As long as he wears Crimson you should hope he develops into a stud. Besides he out played the golden boy Bateman all spring long. So keep acting like spoiled children pissed someone else has a shot besides your boy.
