Is it true he has grade issues?

That's what we had been hearing on Mississippi State boards. Also, supposedly why we had pulled back a little from recruiting lately.

Kid is a beast, good pickup

Saban must have an ulterior motive for getting this kid. Are there future studs on that team for next year? Is that coach really influential in Louisiana?

This kid isn't special IMO and is a big grade risk I believe.

ETA:

He is good, but I honestly don't think he's Bama/LSU quality.

I guess a 3-4 NT could be his calling. He certainly has the right size to be a hole plugger. Wouldn't fit LSU's 4-3 though.

ETA:

And I love your title bait...

That's what I'm thinking too. I'm still surprised since we're in good shape for a couple other NTs that don't have grade risks as far as I know. Guess we're looking to take 2 this cycle which is unusual.

Few of our 3-4 NG prospects have been highly rated. Terrence Cody was a 3-star JuCo. Josh Chapman was a 3-star. Jesse Williams was a 4-star JuCo. Darren Lake was found in summer camp. Brandon Ivory was a 2-star.

The best true NT y'all had. So underrated, but was a straight beast for that position

And he would be playing for the Colts now if he didn't have knee issues.

There was reports that he was working with the starters already. Robert Mathis has already nicknamed him TNT for "Thug in the trenches".

Just cause he wrote "role tied" doesn't mean he is dumb.

Projecting guys to play DT in a 3-4 out of high school is like trying to project kids on the OL.

There are a few kids like DJ Fluker or Cyrus you feel are sure things, the rest you dont know until you have them on campus for 2-3 years

My guess is they noticed him while watching tape on the Harris kid down the road and something stood out that he jumped up the list. At this point if he's someone Saban wants what do I know?
