- LSU lost only their 9th game of the season. 2nd best in NCAA.
- With a win today, LSU can be the first team in nation to 50 wins.
- Ryne Stanek has pitched 21 2/3 in Inge against LSU, allowing only 1 earned run.
- Ryne Stanek lowered his season era to 1.40. In SEC play, his era is 0.84
- Arkansas reliever Colby Suggs tied the school record with his 12th save.

Quotes

Paul Mainieri: "Staneks about ready for the big leagues. I'm about tired of seeing him pitch against us. He needs to move on."

Ryne Stanek: "My job is to go out and put up zeros. It feels really good because LSU is a good team."

Dave Van Horn: "I heard on tv they said he had a slight cold. That's hilarious. It was a lot worse than that. Wise has been very sick."

Paul Mainieri: "It's an indefensible play. There not much you can do with the way they put bunts down."

"I never saw so many squeeze bunts in my life."

Paul Mainieri: "Aaron had to use a few more pitches to get through seven innings."

Dave Van Horn: "Yea, I think we should host a regional. I hope we get to. I'm not out begging for it, but we've beaten some really good teams."

I thought the turning point was in the 4th inning when LSU had bases loaded and the fans started chanting LSU LSU LSU. There's nothing wrong with doing that so it's not a criticism but I think it jinxed them with the baseball gods.

Dave, you better win the SEC or I don't think you host.

Yea, we should have just sat there sitting on our hands. Who'd ever think LSU could have a big inning in baseball.

Arky outplayed us. I watched the whole game, but only heard the announcers at the very end. They seemed to be pretty fricking dumb. Did anyone else feel that way?

One of them made a comment at the end to say "Arkansas came from behind to beat Aaron Nola." Which is false. They came from behind to beat LSU, but the game was tied when Nola came out. Why single him out like that? Might be a minor quibble, but it seemed strange to me.

Van Horn could've outcoached any coach in the SEC last night. I was impressed with both bunt calls and extremely impressed with the hit and run call.

It took some balls to hit and run on the first pitch of the at bat, with Nola pitching, and with a slow catcher on first that would otherwise be dead in the water if Van Horn didn't have the confidence in his hitter.

Hogs

This is why this league is so great. Day in and day out any team can win. It makes every game fun

At one point they also said something about someone running from 3rd to 1st.

the announcers did everything they could to talk up Arkansas and Alabama while they were playing LSU.

Caught this as well.

Watched the entire game, Arky outplayed LSU from the 5th inning on. Van Horn did a fantastic job of being creative to manufacture runs and the Arky players executed everything that was called to perfection.

Hats off to the Hogs. Hope to see ya tomorrow with Stanek in the dugout. Dude is nasty.

A win tomorrow would push our RPI into the 20's all but locking a host spot up.
